"Fine hotel for sleeping" This hotel was fine for sleeping. I was out all day sightseeing, came back to sleep and shower and this place fit the bill. I thought it was clean and simple, no frills. I love that it is steps away from the metro (the best one I have ever been on). The breakfast was fine, simple foods but tasty and variety. I would stay here again.

"Very nice and well located" My wife and I spent two nights there and were very pleased. The room may be small but was clean and everything worked. We didn't expect American standards. If we wanted to stay at an American hotel we would have gone to Florida. The rooftop restaurant is very nice. The staff was very nice and the food was good. The view of the city from the roof was great.

"Rally Mad" We stayed here as part of a package to see the WRC Accropolis Rally. We were a little concerned as some of your older reviews were not too good. But we had a very good stay in an inexpensive tourist class hotel. We started on floor eight but the parties in the roof top bar, floor nine, went on until 3.00a.m. so we asked for a move. This was done with no problem. Breakfasts were good - even when they opened the dining room for us at 5.00 a.m. everything was still in place. Wonderful position next to the metro which was fabulous. Be careful to ensure you punch your ticket- they do inforce the fines, four American tourists on the way to the airport had to pay 60 euro's each because they had not punched.

"Great hotel in Athens" We spent 4 nights at the Stanley in Athens. The Metro (subway) is very easy to reach. It is right on the corner. The Stanley was very clean and the hotel staff was wonderful. I had hurt my foot earlier in the trip and needed a room with a tub and they were very helpful to meet my needs. We loved the roof top bar and pool. The view of the Acropolis was wonderful at night. We felt right at home!!

"Highly Recommended" The Stanley Hotel is has a beautiful rooftop restaurant and outdoor swimming pool with a great view of the Acropolis (not unusual in Athens!). It's next to a metro station (METAXOURGHIO) with a taxi rank outside -and taxis are very cheap (but slow during rush hour). The rooms are big and clean and I had a balcony overlooking the square outside and rooms higher than floor 5 potentially have and Acropolis view. Bath and shower were great and the room was quiet. TV channels include CNN & BBC. The lifts too are very slow to arrive -but they all were working The breakfast was wonderful with a huge buffet of everything you would expect -meat cheeses, bacon eggs and numerous pastries and breads. Although the hotel entrance is from a side street at the back which doesn't give the best best of first impressions, you shouldn't be put off by this and will no doubt be very happy with your stay here. .

"Really good" I have just return from Athens this morning and I have stayed at the Stanly hotel. I have had a very good time, the location is good, because it has the underground at the door , the rooms nice and clean and the people working there excellent. I would repeat without thinking. Bye bye

Great hotel Extremely good value hotel in the heart of Athens, directly next door to the Metro - only two stops to Syntagma - and a taxi stand outside the door. Fabulous views of the Acropolis and city from the rooftop, with restaurant, coffee bar and small pool/sun lounge area. Rooms large, clean and quiet with balcony. Buffet breakfast included in room price was outstanding. We stayed in August 2005. A great find!
