...but some will complain about anything.

"Best in Prague"
We have just returned from a long weekend stay at U Tri Korunek (The Three Crowns) hotel in Prague.
We spent 3 weeks looking for the perfect hotel for our stay, and going by the reviews of this hotel, we settled on the Three Crowns.
We took the Cedaz minibus from the airport, which you book at a desk near the exit. The hotel is about half an hour from the airport. Dont be put off by the graffitti near the hotel, you quickly realise it is everywhere!
The hotel is split in 3, with rooms and reception on one side of the road, rooms and restaurant/bar on the other side, and round the corner are more rooms which were finished in September. We were lucky enough to be allocated one of those.
The room was immaculate. There was always lots of hot water, there was shampoo/shower gel provided, towels were big enough for a bath and were changed every day. Even the pillows were more than adequate. The only grumble I would have is that there were no blinds in the bedroom, and no tea/coffee making facilities, but everyone can find something to moan about!
The hotel is about a half hour walk from Wenceslas square, although the tram stops at the top of the hill from the hotel, and 3 stops later, youre at the square in about 5 minutes, tickets you buy from reception. The restaurant is cosy, we ate on one evening which was superb, and breakfast was stunning, a hot and cold buffet, as much as you wish. On further exploration, we found a lovely Italian restaurant down the road from the hotel which served the best chicken in mushroom sauce we have ever tasted! We also visited the Saloon bar, and beer is only 35p a half litre. They can't speak english, so 'dva staropramen' is enough!
We are glad we chose this hotel, as hotels in the centre seemed a bit seedy and also very noisy.
This hotel was worth every penny, I would've paid more to stay in the type of room we were given. The staff were very friendly, and even smiled readily! We will definately stay here again, and we recommend it to anyone.I sent an e-mail before our stay saying we were coming for our wedding anniversary, and there was a basket of fruit and a nice letter from the hotel waiting in our room.
We had the best time in Prague, one of our lasting memories of our visit is standing on Charles Bridge watching the sun set behind Prague castle, listening to a jazz band play It had to be you.

I spent 3 nights there in July. Hotel is nice and friendly. Lots of quiet little bars within 5 mins walking distance. I will be going back next August..
