"Pleasant hotel, wonderful town" We stayed at the Hotel Vendome for three nights in June 2004. The hotel is a very pleasant, if fairly simple, establishment. Location is excellent -- about 100 meters from the pedestrianized old village, which is where you want to spend most of your time. Our room was simple, clean, with a good bed and a reasonably good sized bathroom. The shower was not ideal; too little water pressure unless you kept the temperature at lukewarm. Breakfast was excellent. Extensive and very good selection of fruits, breads, cheeses, meats, coffee, tea, cereals, and juices. Some staff speak some English. All are very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay at Hotel Vendome again. And, can't say enough about the town. What a delightful and charming town, and the old village is so utterly quaint. The town is truly beautiful with the river, small bridges, man-made waterfalls, and all the flowers, flower boxes, and old homes.
