"Very Nice"
I have just returned from a trip to Madrid, Seville, and Granada. While in Marid, we stayed at the Hotel Villa Magna. We got a good rate by going to the Hyatt Hotels web site and taking advantage of the special rate offered. The catch is that you have to pay the full amount in advance - no changes, no cancellations.
The hotel is extremely nice. I'm sure that the Ritz is a little nicer but at probably double or triple the price. Our room included a bedroom, a dressing area with closet and two sinks, and a nice marble bathroom. The beds with crisp, white sheets with duvets were wonderful. Our room looked out the back towards the Corte Ingles department store. Maybe this was quieter than the from looking over the main thoroughfare. And it was extremely handy to have the store right there. There is a huge drug store and supermarket in the basement. We got all kinds of things there from bandaids to our own tapas picnic. I had requested early check in and our room was available when we arrived from the airport at just about noon.
It is in a very nice "upper east side" neighborhood with nice shops and designer stores all around. It was about a 4 Euro cab ride to the Prado Museum.
The chinese restaurant was very good and, relatively, not so expensive. The lobby area where they serve afternoon tea and evening tapas was pretty overpriced. We never ate breakfast there but walked down the street to the Mallorca coffee shop in the shopping plaza for cafe con leche and pastries.
The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly.

"Outstanding service, Great Location"
I just returned from a business trip to Spain. This time I stayed at the Park Hyatt Madrid. Although the building is not spectacular the entrance sure is!
Check was a matter of minutes. The front desk staff is extremely well trained, efficient and they speak english fluently. Something that can't be said from other 5* hotels in Madrid.
I was given a nice and spacious room with a beautiful vieuw at the garden. The hotel is decorated in a classical style with contemporary touches, it is not as baroque as for example the Ritz is. The bathrooms are huge and they have the famous Blaise Moutin amenities.
The location of the hotel is superb. It is located in a residencial area and designer boutiques are just around the corner. The hotel has a direct access to one of the most luxurious malls in Madrid.
The concierge was very helpful finding a tapas bar. A must is cocktails in the Champagne Bar.
In short: outstanding service, great hotel.

"Very Stylish"
Last weekend we stayed at the Hotel Villa Magna, a Park Hyatt while being in Madrid for Christmas Shopping.
I loved it. The hotel is very stylish specially this time of the year. The Christmas decoration is simple, elegant and impressive at the same time.
Rooms are very spacious and bathrooms are huge. Our room had a beautiful view at the Garden in front of the hotel. I was very pleased with the personalized airconditioning which was to my surprise soundless.
Staff was very helpful not only did the concierge recommended us some very fine restaurants in the neighbourhood, also the service level of the waiters in the Champagne bar and the hotel restaurant is rare for Spanish standard.
The hotel is very well located, in a residencial area of Madrid. The Prado museum is a 10 minute walk and at just one block away you will find, Cartier, Dior, Armani, Valentino, etc.
I was very pleased with my stay and I could certainly recommend the Hotel Villa Magna, a Park Hyatt to anyone going to Madrid.
