"Among My Favorites in Europe"
I write this review of Villa Real with the mixed feeling that it will be booked or more expensive the next time I seek a room in Madrid. I travel extensively in Europe, mostly for business. Other than a price limit of $500 a night, I have flexibility to choose my own hotels, frequently referencing Trip Advisor. Villa Real was my favorite European hotel experience in several years – and that was before they brought the complementary bottle of Spanish wine. The location is convenient for tourists and business alike. The exterior is restrained, Spanish deco and the interior is beautifully modern and clean. They staff is helpful, professional and friendly. Toiletries and other features are top-notch. I should say that my opinion of Villa Real is influenced by my spacious room with view over a lovely square. I tried to discover why the hotel was not rated five star. No doubt it’s missing some feature required by conventioneers. The best I could come up with was hangers that can’t be taken home because the hooks are fixed to the clothing rods. I’ve stayed at more expensive hotels in Madrid, but I’m already planning my return to Villa Real.

"Great Location"
Just back from a trip to Madrid. We loved this Hotel, it is close to everything. We did not find it noisy.... probably because we were on the top floor. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

"Great Hotel, Centrally Located"
Just returned from Spain and Portugal. We read reviews for all the hotels we booked on this excellent site (as always) and now are trying to return the favour.
This was our first night in Spain. We arrived to Madrid in the morning and took the subway to the hotel. The hotel was walking distance from the subway station.
First impression of the hotel is quite good, nice looking building in open square. Lobby is simple for a 5 star hotel, but the room was excellent and identical to the picture we had seen on the internet. Rooms are recently renovated, all hardwood, split level and very generously sized.
The Manager sent us a bottle of wine, which was a really nice gesture.
The location was great, walking distance to lots of resteraunts and nightlife. The next day we took a train to Cordoba and the train station was walking distance from the hotel as well.

"6 star services"
I stayed at an split level suite which was a free upgrade. So judging from the money that I paid, I had no complaint with the room. The roof terrance on the upper suite was just beautiful.
To be frank, the decor of the hotel was a bit dated and appeared more to be a business hotel rather a tourist hotel. But what made this hotel special was the SERVICE. They pre-booked hte bullfight tickets and train tickets(madrid to sevilla) for me according precisely to my detailed needs.
Although they did not provide a hugh selection of foods in the buffet breakfast, the quality of the foods were very very good.
One minor issue was that the hotel was a bit far from the metro. It was located in between two stations.

"Excellent!"
Really enjoyed our stay. The location is very handy - it's five minutes walk from the Prado and about ten minutes walk to the centre of Madrid. Lots of places to eat and have coffee within a few minutes walk, so it didn't matter that we didn't have breakfast included. Lovely room with a very comfortable sofa. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we were able to access the Internet and print off our boarding passes for the return flight - there is a computer/printer in reception. If we return to Madrid, and I hope we will, we wouldn't have any hesitation in staying here again.
