"Hotel Washington Opera has a decent location"
Hotel Washington Opera has a decent location, about a 5 min walk to Louvre metro. Newly renovated, very clean and tastefully decorated. Quiet rooms, however there is building construction next door but does not bother you depending on which side of the hotel you stay.

"clean and pleasant"
Hotel Washington Opera's room was clean and pleasant and the location of the hotel is very good.
Although the desk staff was pleasant, they were not very helpful when asked for help. I specifically asked the hotel by e-mail if there was a bar or loubge and was told there was. When we got there and asked where the bar was, we were told they wood serve us drinks in the lobby, which consisted of two small sofas by the street entrance.

"Very cozy and Comfortable"
The location of this hotel is close to everything. The Louvre is a couple of mins walk. (try the cafe accross the street small little shop that has this foot long hotdog wraped in a french bread. The back of the hotel faces the Palais Royal gardens. Also close to the metro.
Try the little bread shop accross the street from the hotel. I would run accross in the morning and come back with a ham & cheese croissant or a chocolate croissant. Can't wait to go back.

"Almost excellent"
Beautiful hotel for 3 stars. Rooms were very elegant, clean and nicely furnished to suit the period of the building. Room enough for a child's bed. Plumbing was poor and, whilst the bathroom and fittings were lovely, the shower leaked badly and flooded the floor on each occasion.
No restaurant or room service.
The property is more like a pension in that it is simply bed and breakfast with a very small lounge area. Breakfast is in the cellar - well presented and lovely food.
Female staff member not so helpful but (can't remember his name) male staff member super excellent and helpful.
Fantastic location - close to everything. We walked all the way back from the Arc de Triomphe on a cold winter's evening without any problem (including our 7 year old).
Would definitely stay here again (but check bathroom!).
Internet connection would be nice in lobby.

"Oui! Oui!"
Oui Oui! We loved this very Parisian hotel ! Our room looked directly at the Palais Royal with theater faces on the facade and felt like we'd stepped back into time. There was noise and talking in the street below but we enjoyed all the french commotion! I shouted "Bonjour!" in my pajamas from my balcony window to someone below and got a big smile! We could smell the cooking aromas from the cafes on the street. Our fancy cont. breakfast was perfect w/ coffee, yogurt , jam and rolls in a freshly painted dining room w/ art-deco, nouveau movie star fashion pictures and scenery. It was close to the Louvre metro stop which was on the central line taking us everywhere. Our teenagers loved being within walking distance to the Hard Rock Cafe. Only 1 negative: The shower was only partially enclosed and water went all over the floor but we used towels to mop it up and all was well. We would stay here again.

"Wonderful Hotel"
I just read the travel agent review posted based on a visit that was concurrent with my stay at the Washington Opera. I stayed for six nights with my two daughters and found it to be very pleasant. Our room was newly-decorated and relatively spacious, the bathroom was immaculate and the staff very accommodating.
The area was great - very safe with plenty of places to grab food. We were also able to easily walk to a number of museums and attractions.
Overall, highly recommended.

"Charming and centrally located"
This is the perfect Paris hotel. It is 5 mins walk from the Louvre and the Opera, with beautiful restaurants and bistros on its doorstep. The hotel is charmingly furnished, with lots of fresh orchids and a tasteful, calming decor. The rooms are small but have very high ceilings and our room had french windows which opened fully onto an ornamental balcony. The standard of the room was very good. The staff were polite and helpful and breakfast was ample. All in all, a perfect place to stay in Paris.

"Wonderful Hotel, Great Location"
The Hotel Washington Opera is the best deal you will find in Paris...(ignore the review from the travel agent and read all the others)...we had a wonderful week with our daughter because the hotel is so pleasant, colorful, peaceful, relatively roomy...the staff, Ana and Elodi in particular, were very friendly and courteous, spoke fluent English and were very helpful with directions, reservations, tips on shopping and avoiding high prices...and they saved us money on transportation and sightseeing...
Our room was lovely in French Blues and White, roomy enough to add a roll-away, 3 adults' luggage and still move around, the bath was almost elegant in marble...6th floor and pretty nice view...and I especially enjoyed early morning coffee in the sitting area off the lobby...bright, quiet, peaceful, good place to read or plan the day's events...
Location is perfect for sightseeing, shopping and dining...5 minute walk from the Louvre and the Metro on Line #1, the main east-west line and connection to the train to Versailles; 15 minutes to Notre Dame and dining/shopping on the Left Bank; 10 minutes to the Opera and great shopping and dining (don't waste time going to the very high end shops near the Champs)
Two excellent restaurants are less than 2 blocks away...the best meals we had in Paris were at "Soprano" (like it so well we went back), moderately priced, light mix of Italian and French cuisine, two young men opened it a couple of years ago, they had worked in New York for several years before returning to France and opening their own place...the other is "Le Grand Colbert" which is beautiful inside...it is the restaurant where Jack Nicholson met Diane Keeton in the last scenes of "Something's Gotta Give"...also very good, a little pricier...
Paris is very expensive; exchange rates can kill you...best bet is put everything on credit crds (better exchange of Euros to Dollars), and use ATMs to withdraw Euros rather than carrying much cash... do not exchange Dollars for Euros at the airport, just get Euros out of the ATM, airport exchange as the worst deal anywhere...
