"Consistently good service."
My husband and I have spent several days at the Executive Inn Downtown for 2 "Christmas seasons" and one other time, since our son lives in San Jose (with no parent accomodations). It's not fancy, but is a nice, clean, comfortable place with nice extras like a room refrigerator, and a large vanity sink/mirror, outside of the bathroom. The management and clerks have always been very helpful and friendly, and the one time we had a plumbing problem, they came to fix it immediately. We've had no problem with connecting my laptop to the Internet (and we have had problems in the $125/night hotels!). No restaurant, but a Dennys a block away. Simple, but an agreeable place.

"Unbeliveable Value, Caring Management"
The Howard Johnson Express in San Jose is a well maintained property. The rooms are good sized with many amenities such as refrigerator, microwave, and safe. They even include bottled water, popcorn, and chips with no charge. Local phone calls are free. The manager Andy Patel is very accomodating. He will make sure to do everything to make sure you are happy. All in all, a great value, under $45.00 with a nice continental breakfast and fruit and coffee available all day. You can even check your e-mail for free in the lobby.

"I liked it."
It is nice, clean and friendly. I missed having a pool but the rooms are very nice. we were able to walk down to fast food and a pizza parlor is right next door. Not the best part of town as this is a true "downtown" location in a big city but i would stay there again.
