"Fantastic Holiday"
My partner and I, and my two children aged 7 and 10 went for a weeks holiday to the Hotel Amaika in April and absolutely could not fault it. The room was lovely and the maid service excellent, with freshly made beds and clean towels daily. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the food superb. There was always plenty of choices, and as this was the first all inclusive holiday my children have had, it gave them the opportunity to go and choose different dishes and try foods that they haven't had before. They particularly loved having their own cards which they could go up to the bar and ask for 'kids cocktails'. The bar staff were always cheerful and chatted to the children especially when they were not busy.
Evening entertainment was very good and so was the entertainment for the children, mine loved being asked if they wanted to join in something, it made them feel important. Because of the late nights watching the entertainment, the children slept in and missed breakfast, but this was never a problem, as there is always snacks etc available in the restaurant.
The pool was ideal for the children, but I expect it may be a little small in the height of the summer. There is a sign saying if you leave your sun bed, not to leave towels there to keep it reserved, but unfortunately, this did happen, which was a little annoying as it limited where you could go.
The beach was close by, but windy whlst we were there, so generally stayed by the pool and wandered around the shop of Calella which was great. We had a day trip to Barcelona, which is a must, and there is so much to see, beware of exuberant prices at Les Rambles We need to go back!!!
Overall, this hotel is excellent, it is so nicely themed (titanic), and they have a jar of sweets and a jar of really nice BIG Granny Smith Apoples on the reception counter for you to help yourself.
We would go back again.
