"What a great place - perfect setting"
This was a perfect place to stay - the ferry runs every 10 min over to Venice main town and also to other islands.
If you purchase the blue or orange ferry cards for 1 to 7 days this is really great value . The hotel is in a great location - bang on the main street and 5min walk to the ferry or the other way to the beach . The hotel itself is a good standard - a bit expensive to eat in the restaurant - but who needs this when there are plenty of places around. We found this a really good place to return to after long hot days sightseeing - I would recomend it .
I travelled with an older relative ( although very fit ) and we both found this to be a good experience .
There is also a boat directly from Marco Polo Airport to the Lido island and it takes about 40 min . Try not to have loads of luggage as there is a bit of a walk to the boat , however it all adds to the great experience of Venice .

"An ideal location"
In Lido, Venice we stayed at the Hungaria Palace Hotel. Our room was located on the 4th floor (404) and had a great view of the Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta, located below. This street is lined by many cafes and the hotel is only about five minutes walk from the quay where the vaporetti (local ferry) docks ever 15 minutes during the day. The room had a good view, was clean and was comfortable for two. It had both air condition and a TV which allowed us to watch CNN to catch up on the day’s news when we returned to our room late at nights. The streets were well lit and we felt very safe in Lido and Venice as a whole. The hotel staff were helpful, friendly, courteous and made our stay in Venice a pleasurable one. It is evident that this hotel prides itself on customer service and through its highly motivated staff tries to ensure the comfort and well being of all of its guests. The breakfast was substantial as their served eggs, bacon, fruits, juices, coffee etc.

"Loved it !!"
Visited Venice in August with my 10 year old daughter.
I chose the Lido as I thought the combination of the beach and a short boat ride into Venice would be better for her.
I'm so glad I did, this was an ideal place to stay.
We spent a couple of days sightseeing in Venice and a couple of days on the Lido, hiring bikes and on the beach.
We found the Hungaria Palace an ideal place to stay, located 5 minutes from the beach on one side and 5 minutes to the boat terminal on the other.
The hotel was lovely and clean, our room was nice, the staff were friendly, breakfast was good.
We really enjoyed it and overall I feel we made an excellent choice.

"Wonderful"
What a wonderful hotel. Beautiful spacious rooms and convenient to the ferry over to Venice. The shops and restaurants on Lido are just a good as Venice itself but not as crowded. We lucked out with this hotel after the terrible experience with a 3 star hotel around the corner.
The Villa Parco - stay away from that one...yuk!

"Great substitute"
We stayed at Hungaria Palace by default when our originally-booked hotel in Lido couldn't accommodate us due to some maintenance problems. They arranged this hotel as a substitute and it turned out for the best. We loved the hotel's position on the main street, the proximity of transport and all facilities, would have loved being so close to the beach had we been able to stay longer.
Our room was on the 3rd floor, facing the back, so not much of a view but very quiet. The bedroom was small and the furniture dated, but very comfortable for a one night stay before joining a cruise. The bathroom was obviously re-novated, very well appointed and gleamingly clean.
The hotel's public rooms decor fits in very well with its name and image: that of an Austro-Hungarian period and style hotel. We loved the ample, multi-choice breakfast and the large, sunny and welcoming breakfast room. Its easterly orientation helps to make a happy start for the day ahead.
