"Wonderful views. Great location."
We returned to the Imperial Tarraco for a long weekend and, once again, had a very pleasant stay. The location is ideal for exploring the old city, visiting the Roman ruins and strolling the Rambla. Our room was spacious, with twin beds - as is customary in many hotels in Spain - and the view, overlooking the Mediterranean and the Roman amphitheatre can't be beat. Although the furnishings could be updated, the room was clean and the beds relatively comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and well-lit. We found the buffet breakfast to be more than adequate with many choices - a variety of juices, cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses and pastries, in addition to eggs, sausage and bacon. The only disappointment was the coffee machine. Any variation we selected seemed to be already sweetened. There was no way to pour a proper cafe con leche. I would recommend a change to individual pots of coffee, hot milk and hot water for tea. The staff was courteous and professional - not at all rude as suggested by one tripadvisor reviewer. Although there are other hotels in town that probably offer similar prices, we have returned to the Imperial Tarraco primarily for its location and view of the sea.
