"Highly recomended stay"
This was a late planned break to Barcelona, so we took what we were offered...just before the internet holiday boom. The fact that we were given a top floor room with a terrace looking onto the Catalan hills must have been a bit of luck, and was insignificant because the personal service we had this hotel was second to none. Situated to the north west of the main interests in the city it is positioned on all the main bus routes to every part of the city. If you do not like walking the nearest metro station is just down the way (Diagonal) but the best way to see the city is to walk it. Great accomodation with noisy AC in the summer time (you will need it above the noise) a great spread at breakfast, this is the perfect base for exploring the wonderfully beautiful city of Barcelona.

"Charming hotel at a great price"
We stayed at the Hotel Wilson June 26, 2005 through June 29, 2005. We actually arrived at the hotel a day earlier than our reservation and were concerned that we may not be able to get a room. But the staff at the hotel was very accomodating and we got a room at a very reasonable price, (70 euro for the first night, a price equivalent to what we paid through Hotels $90/night). The hotel itself has a lot of personality. The lobby is small but there is a great spiral staircase and classic tiny European elevator-very fun! We didn't find out until the last night but there is also a terrace on the 7th floor that offers a fun view of the nightlife below. The room was fine. It had air conditioning but it didn't work terribly well. Better than nothing though. The room had a lot of amenities including a phone, minibar, free safe and access to an in-room massuese. The bathroom was clean and well equipped with a bathtub, so-so shower and bidet. The location of the hotel is pretty good, especially considering the price. It is close to Casa Mila and about 6 blocks to the nearest metro stop. There is also a grocery store and restaurants near by. The neighborhood feels safe even at night.

"Good Price and Location Combination"
The Husa Wilson is located on AV. Diagonal in the financial district of town. We has a double room, which consisted of 2 single beds (although I was told it was a double bed). The room was very large and had a balcony overlooking the street. The air conditioning did not work that well, so we kept the balcony windows open. The street noise was very loud, even with the windows shut. I suggest asking for a room on the opposite side of the hotel. The breakfast was really good, and was included in the price of our room which was about $150/night. The hotel is older, but clean, and the elevators were really small. My husband and I had to split up the elevators.
For the price/location the Husa was a good value. I made a last minute reservation and everything I was looking at was over $200. It was a pretty long walk to Las Ramblas, but I was fine with that. The bus Turistic has a stop just down the street, and I suggest taking that to see the city and get back to the hotel. It was easy to get to the airport and train station from the hotel.

"Great hotel"
The Wilson Husa was just terrific. We stayed there for 4 days, our first time in the beautiful Barcelona. The rooms were great, clean and large. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast spread was fantastic, and the hostess was so kind, she treated us like family...it makes such a difference!
The hotel is very easy to get to, being right on the Diagonal. It's in a largely residential area that has really great neighborhood restaurants (no tourists! real locals), around the Maria Cubi street. Check them out for dinner, much better than the tourist traps in Barceloneta, the Ramblas or Placa Catalunya.
We'd love to stay there again on our next trip to Barcelona.
