"Excellent Service"
We visited Dubai at the beginning of April this year and made arrangements at the last minute. The hotel confirmed our booking immediately and arranged for us to have private transfers from the airport. When we arrived at Dubai International, sure enough the chauffer was there to collect us. Check in was easy and a table had been reserved for us for dinner. The room was newly refurbished on the 14th floor, exceptionally clean and had all the facilities you need (tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press, iron, hairdryer, fridge, fresh fruit, internet access etc) and the bathroom (which had a separate shower cubicle) had lovely towels, bathrobes and toiletries. The staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is in an excellent location and within walking distance of the gold souk. The revolving restaurant at the top of the hotel is well worth a visit - the views are Dubai are breathtaking. As a family we enjoyed our stay here and can confirm that there were plenty of other families also enjoying their stay. This hotel shouldn't be dismissed if you are looking to experience the real Dubai and not just the beach.

"i cant fault this hotel - and i'm picky!"
this is an expensive hotel but the value is impecable. it is worth every diram. i stayed in a newly renevated room which was imaculate. very plush every thing was new - high style. i ate in the revolving restaruant which was good. but my most incredible experience was having a rib eye in the "kitchen" restaurant on the ground floor. i have eaten many steaks in the world including the states and south africa but i can say that this was the most incredible steak i have ever had. i whole heartedly recomend this hotel for accomodation, food, and location.

"Great hotel"
We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Hyatt and we are planning a return visit. The hotel and grounds are lovely. You do not feel that you are in a large hotel as all the rooms are in smallish blocks separated by excellent landscaping. We found the rooms very clean and well equiped although you do not get a kettle etc as in the UK. We did not use the pools very much but they all looked good and never seemed over busy. We spent a lot of time on the beach which was virtually deserted most of the time. There were plenty of sunbeds to choose from. It was very hot every day while we were there so the beach may have been quieter than at other times, there was a childrens play area and other sports equipment but we did not see them used. The snorkelling from the beach is excellent - use the pier to enter the water past the reef. My teenage son did a PADI diving course at the water sports centre just down the coast and found the tuition excellent. There is a shuttle bus that runs between the hotels and the water sports centre. It also visits the three corners resort being built beyond the golf course. This resort has a few shops including a pharmacy.
The food in the restaurant was good. Not fine dining but tasy and a good choice with lots of breads, salads and deserts. The BREEZE restaurant does good seafood. Drinks are quite expensive so buy spirits in duty free at the airport . We did the overnight trip to Cairo and a day trip to Petra. Both were excellent . I don't normally go for guided tours but the guides are so knowledgable it is worth it. There is a bank at the hotel. When we go again we will take stirling and change it at the hotel as the exchange rate was better than the UK Take some dollars for tips and if you go to Isreal or Jordan you will need cash ( dollars, euros or stirling but not EG pounds) for the border crossings. We paid 230 dollars in taxes for 4 of us to go to Jordan.
It is very hot in August (42C) and suprisingly hot at night, we found ourselves glad to be indoors in air conditioning even late in the evening.
Do not go to Taba Heights if you want good night life but of you want a great hotel, friendly people and some peace and quiet this is the place to go. |
