The world's first contemporary atrium hotel, the multi- towered Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Atlanta stands adjacent to Peachtree Center Shopping Mall and only a mile from Georgia World Congress Center. The hotel is connected directly to the MARTA light-rail station so guests can take quick trains to anywhere in Atlanta, including Hartsfield International Airport.

Many of downtown's attractions are within easy walking distance of the Hyatt Regency, where guests can marvel at an open atrium lobby, enormous glass chandelier and a large silver and brass sculpture reaching toward the skylights. Meeting space tops 180,000 square feet and includes the city's largest hotel ballroom.

The Hyatt also offers a full-service business center, which includes three computer workstations with Internet access and other office equipment. In addition to an outdoor pool, the Hyatt Regency offers an exceptionally well-equipped, 5,000-square-foot fitness center and access to the Peachtree Athletic Center next door.

Guests can relax in the Parasol Bar, near the Atrium Tower lobby, and enjoy more than 200 selections of wine, beer and liquor. They can also dine on salads, sandwiches and buffet stuff at Kafe Kobenhavn or enjoy calamari, butternut squash ravioli, veal scaloppini and other Italian fare at Avanzare. But guests shouldn't skip the impressive Polaris, the revolving restaurant on the 25th floor with a panoramic view of the Atlanta skyline.

Guestrooms feature contemporary looks or English Tudor styles with oversized work stations, pillow-top mattresses and down pillows, cable TV, safes and Internet access.

Inside Hyatt Regency Atlanta, an enormous glass chandelier tops a lobby designed with large semi-circle patterns of white, gray and tan tiles. A large silver and brass sculpture reaches toward the skylights high above. The area below bustles with conventioneers and large touring groups.

LOCATION

Hyatt Regency Hotel stands adjacent to Peachtree Center Shopping Mall, 1 mile from Georgia World Congress Center, and is connected directly to the MARTA train.

Premier shopping and restaurants can be found in the Midtown and Buckhead areas of Atlanta; both are easily accessible via the MARTA train (the hotel is connected directly to the Peachtree Center MARTA station).

Located at the rear of the Atrium Tower lobby. Sports-themed bar and lounge with Digital Satellite Systems and several big screen, plasma TVs. Over 200 selections of wine, beer, and liquor. Light appetizers served until closing. Open late morning until late evening.

* Kafe Kobenhavn:
Renovated in May 2006 and located in the Atrium Tower lobby. Open-air atmosphere. Buffet-style dining and à la carte salads; sandwiches. Open early morning to late evening for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

* Avanzare Steaks:
Located one level below the Atrium Tower lobby. Large saltwater aquarium dominates one end of the room. Fine dining. Private booths available in back. Steakhouse fare includes filet mignon, lamb chops, and lobster bisque. Open early evening to late evening for dinner only.

* Perks:
Atrium Tower lobby café. Specialty coffee drinks and gourmet snacks include biscotti, pastries, and yogurt parfaits. Open 24 hours.

* The hotel offers a swimming pool and a fitness center. Four miles away, Bobby Jones Golf Course offers 18 holes, a hilly terrain, and water hazards on three holes.

* This downtown Atlanta Hyatt offers 180,000 square feet of meeting space, including the city's largest hotel ballroom. The property also features a full-service business center, which includes three computer workstations with Internet access; a docking station, and fax machine. Shipping and administrative services are offered as well, along with full-color copying (closed Sundays). Wireless Internet access is available in the public areas.
