This hotel is located on a roughly 9 hectare site, adjacent to the Del Monte Championship Golf Course and some 6 blocks from the beach. Fisherman's Wharf is some 2.5 km from the hotel and the aquarium is about 5 km.

This sprawling hotel has a 3-storey main building and a 25 two-storey annexes with a total of 575 rooms. The air-conditioned city hotel welcomes guests in the pleasant lobby, where there is a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange, a cloakroom, and several lifts. Dining facilities include the Knuckles sports bar, which serves beer and burgers, and the Peninsula restaurant, where guests can sample Californian delicacies. The Monterey Cafe offers snacks and cocktails. The hotel additionally features a newspaper stand, a hairdresser, and a launderette (charges apply).
