IBB Hotel Passau is located in the homonymous town in Bavaria, in the South-East of Germany. Passau is also called the City of Three Rivers, and it is famous not only for its church organs in the Cathedral of St. Stephen, but also because it is the starting point of the Danube Boat Cruise, which ends in the Black Sea.

""The Venice of Bavaria""
We stayed at the Holiday Inn during the last week of August 06. It is very conveniently located more or less opposite the railway station. Reception was quick and efficient. The room was spacious and well equipped, with twin extra wide beds. one deficiency was that there were no hooks for coats, etc, though this is being attended to, we were told. The bathroom with bath and shower as one unit, was spotlessly clean and towels were changed every day. We had a splendid view over the Danube but had to keep the double glazed window closed most of the time due to the traffic noise from the busy road below. Air conditioning was efficient but somewhat noisy, especially at full power. We only ate in the pleasantly decorated and arranged restaurant at breakfast time and the buffet meal then was excellent. The ante room to the bar, used for coffee and snack meals was spolit by the siting of a pool table there - a very noisy table which should have a room of its own! There is a shopping precinct behind the hotel, with direct access from the reception area. Passau is a very attractive small Bavarian city and there are plenty of delightful places to eat and enjoy local wines, all sorts of coffees and so on. The beautiful cathedral and its magnicient organ (largest in the world, we are told!) is a must. There is a daily lunchtime recital. Also worth a special visit is the Veste Oberhaus citadel complex on the hill across the Danube. If a change of scene is required, the very attractive city of Linz across the border into Austria is easily reached within about an hour by train. Lovely scenery all the way! No passport controls and no need for currency exchange!

A good city centre hotel situated close to the railway station. Handy underground parking linked directly to the hotel. Rooms large and well appointed. Friendly staff.
