We paid £80 per night for our stay (2 nights), which is a bit pricey for a hotel that doesn't provide breakfast or tea making facilities, and have your credit card ready if you're to use any facility in the hotel eg, phone, internet, luggage storage, parking etc. The room is modern and clean, environment satisfying but staffs not very helpful maybe due to language barrier. I explained that I needed a phone/internet urgently as my wallet was stolen but the counter assistant acted as I was asking for a tissue paper, and another staff who apparently speaks better english just watched and listened. I have stayed in quite a few Ibis hotels before and this is the worse I have come across - not the hotel itself but its staffs. |

"Very good value, excellent location"
We stayed at the Ibis Brussels Ste Catherine in July 2003 and very much enjoyed our stay. At that time the hotel was on special offer (50 Euro per room per night) so we felt the price we paid was more than appropriate. The room was small-ish but very practically furnished, so for a short stay of three nights, everything could be tucked away easily. Considering that the hotel is only rated two-star, we felt that the room was actually quite comfortable and nicely furnished. It didn't have the characteristic 'economy' feel to it as you find it in low-price establishments such as Etap or Formule 1.
The lounge area with its leather sofas and the bar and restaurant were actually very nice and would have easily suited a hotel of more than two stars.
The location of the hotel is excellent if you want to see a lot of Brussels town centre. The Grande Place is less than a ten-minute walk away. If you're not a big breakfast eater, you might go to McDonald's round the corner, where for 1.99 Euro you can have two crispy croissants with butter, jam and a coffee. You may even sit outside, if the weather is fine. For offers it's always worthwhile to check the website of Accor Hotels and to book online. |

"Clean, helpful staff, great location"
This is a very hotel for the budget. Small room like all European hotel but we only spent limited time in the room after all night of the mussels and beer. Immaculate and very helpful staff, especially the night time staff. Great location. It is only 5 minutes walk from the Grand Place where it is much quieter and 2 minutes from the Metro Station. Plenty of choices at breakfast.

"Best budget hotel"
I stayed in Ibis Saint Catherine for 3 nights on 2003 Christmas. It's a 2 star hotel but the service and facilites it provides can upgrade it to 3 stars!
The location is great. 5 mins walk to St. Catherine subway station. The market turned to be a Christmas market which looked great. And from our hotel, we didn't hear any noise! Buffet breakfast is good, although there is no hot food. But they provide ham, cheese, fresh bread and even fresh fruit! Room was small but clean.
Staff were very helpful and able to speak diff. languages. Only thing is: there is only one computer at the lounge area, and the price of internet using is quite high...

"Lovely hotel, great location, friendly people!"
We stayed at the Ibis Ste. Catherine hotel for 7 nights during our stay in Brussels, in late August 2004. The hotel is ideally located behind Ste. Catherine, it's a great, quiet location as it is close to everything. The staff was really friendly and ready to help 24 hours, always with a smile on their face. The small bar next to the entrance was open until late and the service was great. The room was typical Ibis, small but clean and nicely decorated. We really enjoed our stay at the Ibis and will return when we visit Brussels again.
