good value hotel
Stayed at the Ibis in April 2005. A convenient location. Next to the railway station ( didn't hear a sound) with a bus stop outside and taxis widely and cheaply available. The room and bathroom were a bit on the small side, the air-con really did struggle ( with temperatures outside in the mid eighties) but there was plenty of hot water and a bath as well as a shower. The breakfast was perfectly ok - different juices, cereals, croissants, teas, coffee, and cheese.
The pool and surroundings are very attractive with areas for sunbathing and lounging. A good antidote to the hot and bustling city just over the garden wall.
I ate only once at the hotel, at lunchtime. It was a toasted cheese sandwich and freshly cooked french fries. ( astonishingly cheap at under £1.75 and delicious too ). Staff are friendly and helpful and the room cleaned as per usual. A good hotel with facilities for its price and category. A good twenty minute walk to the medina, but then a taxi will do the job for about
£2.00 - £2.50. Carrry small change for tipping porters, drivers, waiters etc.
