Good hotel Good, happy with stay, clean and very near Metro very friendly staff overall, with the exception of the bar, would stay here again but not socialise in the bar

"Good Value : Location OK" We stayed here in Aug 05. The hotel is a large version (10 floor) of the Ibis chain so you can expect decent standards. Spotlessly clean. Bedrooms are good size. It is actually the renovated former (Soviet) Volga hotel but you would never guess without being told. Breakfasts are cold buffet style and are adequate if somewhat relatively expensive (at Euros 8 per person) when compared to what you can pay for a decent meal in town. The hotel is located immediately next to a metro station and is only 3-4 stops from the main sights and sounds of the city centre. Free internet access at 2 PCs in the lobby. The hotel caters especially for groups of American and Far Eastern tourists. Overally, at Euros 50 per room, this hotel is v good value for money and we would use again, but, given the choice, we would opt for the more centrally located Ibis on Raday Street near Kalvin Ter.

"Good Value; 4 metro stops from city (15 minutes) - Perfect for a budget" This hotel is well worth the stay. You can book a room for €45 plus 3% tax per night. It is a standard Ibis. Big clean but basic rooms. Bathroom with shower over a bath tub. The location is not really central but we staying in another central hotel and paid €85 per night, encountered a number of problems and all for the difference of 3 stops on the metro. Don't be put of by the location, it's closer than you think.

"Great choice for those on a budget - or even not!" We chose this hotel after reading the reviews on this site, and it was just as we expected! The hotel is a little way from the centre, on the Pest side. I would guess it is about a half hour walk, but the metro takes less than 10 minutes to get to the station Dozsa Gyorgy Ut from the centre stations, and it is at most a 30 second walk from the station to the hotel's doors. (the metro runs til 11.30pm) Our room was large and clean, with a double bed (with duvet - mmm), wardrobe, sofa and TV. The bathroom was also clean and modern. Anyone who has stayed in an Ibis hotel anywhere else in the world will know what to expect! The TV had a few channels, including BBC World, which was nice to keep up with the news! Staff were friendly and spoke good English. The rack rate is 45 euros, which is very good, and if you book with Octopus travel you usually get breakfast thrown in for free (usually 8 euros). Breakfast was fine, with cereals, lots of different breads, yummy pastries, cold meats, cheese and boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, some pasta (!) and scrambled eggs. So they do try to please their guests of all nationalities and broadly it works! Best of all it is served til 11 at the weekends and til 10 during the week, which is excellent for those on holiday rather than business. (As an aside - I noticed they have Wireless internet access in the restaurant!) All in all an excellent choice, and the less than central location is in my opinion worth the saving in price (the Ibis in the centre is 74 euros a night, for comparison).

"Convenient Location" Line which makes it really convenient when travelling. It's probably a bit too far to walk into the centre but with the Metro and buses outside you don't really need to. As for the hotel, well it's an Ibis! You know exactly what you're going to get. A big comfortable bed, a big clean room and an en-suite with a bath tub. The tv was okay but only had about 3 English channels (we're not there to watch tv though are we!). The hotel seemed to be recently renovated. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the first floor and is a cold buffet. It's got breads, toast, cereal, cold meats, cheese, juices and tea and coffee. All in all this was a cracking place to stay especially for the cost (Ł25 room a night on octopustravel). The links into the centre are great and also good for the airport as you don't need to change Metro.

"Excellent Hotel" We stayed at this hotel at the end of March during the Easter. It’s a very good hotel and couldn’t believe it’s so good considering that I booked this hotel from Octopus travel at the rate of Euro41 per room/night including buffet breakfast for 2 persons !! The staff are very helpful and the breakfast is huge. It’s a cold buffet breakfast and you can take as much as you like and everything is very fresh. I was amazed with the room which with the European standards is huge - it had a double bed, a sofa and a desk and it was very clean. The metro is just in front of the hotel and it’s the blue line (U3) which is the longest metro passing from the city centre. It’s also good if you intend to use the public transport from the airport because you only need to take an airport bus to the first stop of the metro and then use this metro which stops in front of the hotel (I really recommend to use the public transport from the airport which is really cheap and every efficient). It’s only 4 stops to the centre and the public transport in Budapest is very efficient so no problem to go to the centre. The only comment that I want to add is that since the last metro leave the centre at 11pm so one should consider this because it’s quite far away to walk it back to the hotel so if you want to leave later you have to take a taxi. Otherwise I recommend it with no hesitation and in fact if I go back to Budapest (which is a very beautiful city) I will surely use this hotel.
