Il Granduca hotel is located in a very quiet area, and was preferred at the beginning of the 19th century until our days, by intellectuals and artists. The Hotel, due to its position, is situated close to the center, permit to reach in just five minutes walk to Piazza SS. Annunziata and in seven to Cathedral Duomo Square.

LOCATION

Il Granduca hotel is located in a very quiet and green area in the centre of Florence, populated by intellectuals and artists. It is also close to piazza Donatello and via degli Artisti, where it is possible to find the showrooms of painters and sculptors.

* To meet the tastes of our increasing international and demanding clientele, "Il Granduca" proposes an original and plentiful breakfast buffet. During the summer breakfast is served in the garden, where guests can experience any even more pleasant way to wake up into contact with the cool morning air.

* When you enter the hotel the functional reception is right in front, leading to an elegant lobby, a suitable spot for reading a magazine, equipped with nineteenth century style couches which combine esthetic taste with great comfort. The lobby is connected to a pretty parlor with green armchairs, where guests can invite their friends for a chat or a tea in complete serenity.

"Great place to stay"
We stayed at this hotel in early April. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, providing a short walk to the major sites. Breakfasts were good, and the room was clean, but the bed was quite firm. We were able to park our car in one of the limited spaces, which was quite convenient.

"Very relaxing time at Hotel Il Granduca"
Had a wonderful time at the Hotel. The staff was very helpful and our stay was peaceful after four hectic days in Rome! The terrace was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to Florence.

" A Charming Hotel "
we stayed 4 nights probably in the same room as the first writer, off the patio. The hotel has only some 20 rooms I saw a few others, all seemed nice. In june we were given a remote and adjusted our airconditioning, it took a while to cool the rather large room but than it was fine. The room was modern with antique touches, the staff very friendly and if late for breakfast all you needed was to ask for cheese or Cornets or whatever- great cappucino ! For us, an elderly couple, walking to the duomo took a good 30 minutes... We opted for a taxi at 8 E. Or later bought the 24 hour hop on and off tour bus, which brought us very near the hotel. This distance was the only disadvantage, but as the cost of hotel was so low for Florence, it was fine. The hotel has a few parking spaces. These need to be reserved . The owners have a scheme for converting the place, moving breakfasts to the patio and much rebuilding, make sure this is not happening when you plan to stay there, at the moment it is one of the quietest spots in Florence.

"Away from the crowds"
Spent three nights at this quiet little hotel, which was situated in a residential area of smart flats. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the quality of service was very good. We had a double room in a little annex in the courtyard which was of an excellent quality as it was newly finished. The location is about 10 minutes walk from the Duomo. The benefit of this is that there are some some excellent Florentine restaurants nearby, which were recommended by the hotel. The concierge was happy to make a reservation for us, for the most popular restuarant. These places were popular with locals, served fantastic food and were good value.
