When you leave the airport, follow the motorway Attiki Odos for 25, then at the exit 8, turn left and take the motorway Ethiniki Athinon Lamias for 9 kilometres, then turn left, follow Leoforos Athinon, Achilleos. Turn on the left and at the roundabout take the direction of Plateia Karaiskaki for 100m, turn right, follow Karolou for 200m, then Marni for 20m and Satovriandou. Here you will reach Ilion hotel.

A nice hotel
After a first night in a small, smelly room on the back of the hotel I have been afforded a very nice room on the street. Rooms are clean (you sometimes have to ask the reception for an extra cleaning, but it is fine by me), the view from the top floors is awesome (the Acropolis, the Lycabethus and the old Athens), the ambiance is very "Greek" (between Europe and the Middle East), the staff is helpful and nice and, last but not least, there is an ENORMOUS breakfast buffet (which could be served in a nicer room though). Provided you communicate (gently) with the staff, you will have all what you wish during your stay.

kind of disgusting
The hotel lies in the middle of Athens, which is good, if you want to reach several sites by foot, but which is bad, if you want to go out alone at night and do not want to get in trouble. Plus the rooms were in a very bad condition, especially concerning mould, what we found in bathrooms, fridges and on the walls and ceilings. Though the service was kindly and helpfully our group will not stay there again until the hotel isn´t completely renovated.

lovely experience in Athens
Me and my boy friend was there on the week of champions league. We had warm welcome at first. When we wanted to change our room with another one that had balcony, they quickly helped us. Rooms were simple but spotless during our stay. I found the mini fridge in the room very useful. Breakfast we liked was great with many choices. We are planning to go back and know exactly where to stay :)
