"Luxury centrally located hotel"
We stayed 3 nights 18-21 March 2005, taking advantage of a voucher for a free weekend given to regular guests under the group's Priority Club fidelity programme. The hotel is a skyscraper in the University district in the City Centre - well situated for seeing the Ceaucescu Palace and for the shopping streets. It is the penultimate stop on the 783 bus (fare EUR 0.60!) from the Airport. The hotel has a spacious rather grand foyer. Friendly staff. The ground floor brasserie serves also breakfast. Buffet style is included in room price. The top floor restaurant was closed for refurbishing during our visit, though there were no signs to that effect. Our 19th floor bedroom was spacious, with two comfortable beds. Each room has a balcony. Bathroom fully tiled and well equipped with toiletries, toothpaste etc. There is an hexagonal pool on the 22nd floor open from 0600 daily. Again friendly staff. The business centre on the ground floor was closed Saturday and Sunday but open on demand to the Concierge. Internet access was a hefty EUR 10 per hour (local cyber cafes were charging 10% of that). We could not fault the hotel quality and it is definitely 5 star. We would stay again

"Fantastic Hotel... best place to stay in Bucharest"
From experience I can tell you this is the best hotel to stay in Bucharest for 130 euros a night .... the rooms are great, service very good, the pool has a fantastic view, the breakfast is quite good too.
Food, one is set of restaurants by the hotel side which server a lot of game ... from bear to wolf (if you like that kind of stuff); walk across the big square and in the street to the left are some really good restaurants. Explore a bit till you find one you like and try not to dress too flashily as there can be a few dark corners in these alleys.
Finally ... Be wary of guys trying to sell you sex on the roads outside the hotel...
PS: If you have a local business contact, check to see if you get a preferential rate with the hotel, though you wont get any hotel points if you take this up.

"Top class in the city center"
This 1972 built hotel has been renovated recently, and the rooms, new Club IC lounge, lobby etc all had practically brand-new furniture. Still, the hotel looks terrible on the outside. But don't let that bother you. It's a nice hotel w/ great service.
The breakfast and Corso Brasserie lunch were excellent, but room service food only average.
Gym & pool free for guests, that's a plus.
We stayed at this property on leisure, and while the rooms were excellent, there were a few problems:
Yellow, grainy water came from the bathroom tub. (In both our rooms - we booked 2). I guess the plumming isn't quite up to speed with the rooms remodeling? We used Perrier and Evian to wash our teeth after the incident.
The area near the hotel isn't very nice. Stray dogs and cats, beggars on the streets, metro station has only stairs as the escalators are all broken and abandoned. Graffiti everywhere. Dull looking buildings. Holes on streets. Rusty walls.
The staff spoke only average to good english, not excellent.
The casino in the hotel basement was nothing special. Very '70s.
Pay TV very old and only a few choices, even they are not all english-spoken.
