A landmark in Rome; the InterContinental De La Ville was established as a deluxe grand hotel in 1924 and is the only hotel in Italy to proudly boast the luxury InterContinental Hotels and Resorts brand name.

Situated within the historic centre of Rome; in a commanding location at the top of the Spanish Steps; the hotel is the ideal base for visiting the vibrant café's and designer boutiques around the fashionable Piazza di Spagna. A short stroll from the hotel; past the Trinità dei Monti church reveals the tranquil; shaded parks and leafy avenues of the Villa Borghese. It's a wonderfully peaceful spot from which to ponder amazing views of the Eternal City.

A complete refurbishment in 2002 restored the charm of the hotel's original Neo Classical style; subtly incorporating all the modern comforts and technology its 5 Star status implies. Rich; elegant fabrics of deep reds and warm Roman colors compliment classical antique furnishings and paintings; creating a relaxed yet refined ambience.

"Another faultless stay"
Our second time at this wonderful hotel, and, as expected, everything lived up to expectation. The location of the hotel is superb, as mentioned by other guests. I must emphasise that the treatment we received from ALL staff at this hotel was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble from the time we checked in, to the time we left. To be remembered by name and room number by staff is no mean feat, and was noticed by myself and my group. I booked this trip direct with the hotel, and the correspondence between us was excellent. We had a suite which overlooked the main road, and did not experience any noise problems, even though the heat was in the 80s during the night, and we slept with both sets of windows open. Room was beautiful, as was the view. Awesome service from room service etc. Breakfast included in our rate, and was spoiled for choice. Breakfast area a little cramped, but we got there early so not too much of a problem. We are looking forward to our return visit to this hotel in the near future. I personally would not stay anywhere else in Rome (would maybe consider the Mercer next door, but I am more than happy with what we experienced at the Intercontinental.

"thanks to pamela at the above hotel she made our stay"
recently i booked a 6 night stay at the hotel de la ville in rome italy and was promised a room with a balcony and breakfast included in the price, i booked this through intercontinental hotels and resorts and was not smart enough to make them confirm what they promised in the email confirmation, consequently when i got to the hotel you can imagine my disappointment when i was not given what i was expecting. thanks to pamela the guest hostess, she gave me an upgrade on the room and went out of her way to make sure that our stay was the best it could be under the circumstances.

"Honeymoon Made In Heaven"
I will make my review short and painless. If you can get this hotel for a good price...GET IT. Dont think, dont look, dont even look for more reviews, just get it. Everything about this hotel is amazing. Location - It is right at the top of the Infamous Spanish Steps aka Piaza de Spagna. There is a metro train stop right there which can get to you the Vatican or the Colessum in no time. Shopping - Dont even have to ask. ..the Spanish Steps are the Rodeo Drive of Rome. To Eat - There are PLENTY of small Cafes, and restaurantes around. We were there in Jan for our Honeymoon, and it this hotel made our trip worthwhile.

"Excellent Hotel"
My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel towards the end of Feb 2007. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, and the staff were very helpful, guiding us to many sites and restaurants in the city. Be prepared to hike up the Spanish Steps each day however! Only gripe would be that the lobby and bar did not appear open until early evening. We tried to get a drink after a hard days walking and could only find the bar area occupied by a business group. Overall an excellent choice, and would certainly stay again if in Rome.

"Absolutely Wonderful"
The staff were wonderful and accomodating. A portion of the trip was booked as business and the weekend was personal. No worries with sorting out the charges at the end of the trip. Naturally, the location is wonderful. But, try getting around with an infant as well! The staff were helpful for tips on the side roads for the pram. The entire restaurant staff was incredibly helpful with breakfast and dinner with our little man. We couldn't have asked for more. It was almost sad to say Ciao and Arrivederci to our new found part-time nannies. Afternoons in the American bar with the baby crawling all over the place and just the 3 of us having drinks (of course, the baby was having a milk) was so much fun. Rome is charming and the staff at this hotel were even more so.

"I'm picky and this was near perfect"
Spent the last week of October in Italy, 3 nights at this hotel. Excellent location, staff , and room. We were looking at the Hassler and the D'ingleterra Hotel and realized that we had enough Priority Club/Ambassador Club points to cover our hotel in Rome so opted to stay here using our points. I do not like to stay in so-called "chain hotels" while in Europe, but when the stay is essentially "free", I was willing to to give it a go...esp. after reading all of the positive reviews on tripadvisor.com. We had a standard room on the 5th floor...very spacious in my opinion for a standard room, good soundproofing, high ceilings, comfortable bed, nice little balcony facing the Spanish Steps, clean and spacious bathroom. Hotel brought us up complimentary champagne and fruit and water. We ate at hotel one time for dinner...tasty, but not totally to die for...reasonably priced. We did breakfast through room service and they were accurate and punctual. Really, I can find itsy bitsy things to complain about even on the best trips but this hotel was outstanding. The staff has mastered knowing when to leave you alone and when to take care of you and the concierge and doorman were esp. excellent. Biggest complaint was the somewhat slow elevator that only held about 3 people at a time (theres two, they are just tiny). If thats my biggest complain, I think its a darn fine hotel! We had a lovely experience all the way around. Would recommend highly and would not hesitate to stay here again.

"Excellent Hotel"
We visited Rome for three days in the middle of November 2006. We stayed at the Intercontinental De La Ville for 2 of those days and loved every minute of it. The hotel was in immaculate condition. We booked the stay through the Priority Club website and I used points to reserve the room but I opted to pay an additional fee and upgrade from the standard room. I communicated with the hotel staff through email months before our trip and when we arrived everything was just as I had arranged. So I can't really speak to the price because I used points to pay for the stay. Our room was amazing and had a beautful view of the inside courtyard area. The room was bigger than a lot of American hotels that I have stayed in. The bathroom was very large and had all of the amenities that I needed. The only real complaint I had about the room was that we reserved a king size bed and they had just pushed together two twin beds. This was not that big of a deal because we weren't in the room for a large amount of time. This was a very special trip for us as I proposed to my girlfriend on this trip. I made the conceirge aware of this because I had some questions about confirming dinner reservations and they treated us even better. We returned to the room one evening and there was a bottle of chapagne waiting in the room from the hotel general manager. On the night of the proposal, I had the conceirge send up some flowers to be in the room after we returned from dinner. These flowers were better than I expected and my fiance' was astounded. We were actually in Rome at the time that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were getting married and they were staying at the Hotel Hassler next door. I thought that the hotel staff would be distracted the whole time dealing with all of this but this was the complete opposite. They took better care of us because of the big distractions. Overall, this was a memorable trip and it was made that much better by the Intercontinental De La Ville.
