Old Town Square (Staromestske Namesti) is surrounded by wonderful buildings which attract millions of visitors each year. Astronomical Clock, mounted on the tower of Old Town Hall, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Prague and designed and constructed during 14th and 15th centuries. Other historic buildings situated in Old Town Square are, Kinsky Palace, St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady in front of Tyn. In the middle of the square stands the Jan Hus Memorial, a huge statue of the Czech religious philosopher.

"Fantastic Hotel & Location"
We stayed at the Iron Gate Hotel for 3 nights from 18th Nov and loved it.
The suite was huge for the two of us. We walked straight into the bedroom, with a great sized, modern bathroom leading off. Down 5 or 6 stairs from the bedroom into the lounge area with a comfy sofa and chair, table and chairs, and a small kitchenette (including sink, microwave, kettle and minibar) built into what looks like a wardrobe.
The hotel provides a seperate room near reception, just off the courtyard, with internet access, locked, but with a key attached to your room key. Breakfast - continental plus a few extras including made-to-order pancakes - was served in Cafe Bogner, and was ample to get the day started. The hotel also has a restaurant which has recently been converted into an Indian, but can't comment because we didn't eat there.
The hotel is located 2-3 minutes walk from the Astronomic Clock corner of the Old Square, and between 5-10 minutes to the Charles Bridge. Dozens of bars and restaurants also lie within about 10 minutes walk, so for our needs on our first trip to Prague, this was a perfect location.
The hotel may be more expensive than others in Prague, but in our opinion, it was well worth the price and we'd not think twice about re-booking the next time we visit Prague.

"Location,location,location."
I can't add any more than that already has been said, apart from: this really is the best location in Prague. If you really want to be treated like a human being, a paying guest, an individual and you want to feel that you are the only guest, and somewhere where the staff members can't do enough for you, then stay here. If you want to stay at a chain where they only think about themselves then don't stay here. Prague is one of the world's most lovely places and this hotel makes it all the more wonderful.

"Great Hotel"
We booked for the Golden Gate but got moved to the Iron Gate which is in a much better location. Hotel perfect for Wenceslas Square and the Astronomical Clock. Staff were helpful, room was lovely, we upgraded to a suite so had pleanty of space. It was good to be able to make a drink and have the odd lunch time snack in the room as we were out walking for much of the day. The breakfast room was sometimes busy as only small but a good selection which set you up for the morning. We arrived at lunch time and went straight onto the four hour city walking tour which allowed us to orientate ourselves and decide what we wanted to go back and see so we were able to take a more leisurely pace over the 4 days. Did Charles Bridge early morning which was beautiful without the crowds. Food was reasonable if you ate off the beaten track and managed to avoid too many dumplings. For a non-drinker the beer was great. Would highly recommend the hotel and the city, a fantastic place to have a holiday.
