The Hotel Istana is strategically located within Kuala Lumpur’s main Golden Triangle business and commercial centre. The culinary emphasis is subtle yet simple, fresh and refreshingly creative.

* A spacious lobby lounge offering a serene view of the adjacent landscaped gardens and swimming pool, the Songket Lounge presents an ideal rendezvous for guests to relax, unwind and enjoy a quiet drink or two. The magnificence of the Songket Lounge embodies a fitting introduction to the timeless beauty of Hotel Istana and its interiors.

* Dine like a Maharajah. Bask in the splendour of a bygone era of the Maharajahs and savour the distinct aromasa of their specialty Northern Indian cuisine. Sagar offers an extensive selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, all elaborately prepared according to true Northern Indian cooking pot traditions: rich in taste, fragrantly endowed with a variety of exotic spices.

* The Grand Mahkota Ballroom, with its crystal chandeliers and separate spacious foyer, is one of Kuala Lumpur’s largest pillarless ballrooms, with a capacity to seat up to 2,000 guests for grand banquets. It is a preferred location for government ministerial events, international conventions, wedding receptions, product launches, corporate meetings and private celebrations.

The Ballroom is also accessible from its own separate entrance, along Jalan Nagasari, allowing convenient transportation of bulk equipment and/or vehicles for exhibition purposes.

Alternatively, the Grand Mahkota Ballroom is versatile enough to be further partitioned into three separate function rooms with capacities of between 70 – 900 guests.

Istana Kuala Lumpur is a very nice, large hotel, walking distace form tje Petronas Towers. You can reach the hotel from the airport by train and monorail or by cab (70 MR), aboou one hour driving. Nice room, large bathroom with bad and shower. Very clean. Breakfast was good, also for Western tourists with bread, cheese, jam and fruits, cornflakes and juices. Free mineral water in youroom.

I stayed in Istana for two nights during my very short business trip in September this year and I was given the room on the 15th floor, newly refurbished, very nice and clean with all kind of amenities you would expect in a business trip, including internet connection in the room. Unfortunately my schedule was very tight so I had no chance to explore the hotel more deeply, but overall it was an excellent stay especially as the location gave me all the conveniences and have saved lots of my time. Will definitely stay again.

This is the place were i had the bestest breakfast that i have ever had and also the bestest bath that i have ever had. This is a absolutely fantastic base for relaxing and using has a base for discovering KL. Within close approximity of the Petronas towers and KL tower. Visiting these is an absolute must, you won`t be disappointed. Although beer is expensive in KL everything else is mega mega cheap!.Take essentials only.Use the sapce to bring your purchased goods back. I have never experienced a breakfast like i experienced here before.I bet i weighed an extra 2 stone after i finished.The choice is exceptional, full english, buns, omellates,curry!, rice!,pancakes,various breads.MEGA!!!.ALL SELF SERVICE. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, spacious and the bath is massive.I am 6ft2" and i floated,literally floated in the bath.And when you turn the bath you don`t get a dribble of water and expect this big bath to take ages to fill.No you get a torrent of water that fills the bath within minutes.MEGA! The service is excellent and the swimming pool is lovely too!. This is the bestest hotel that i ever stayed in.I think that it is even better than the Hilton in Hua Hin Thailand.
