"This Is A Palace !! (literally)"
This is a stunning Palace built for the opening of the Suez Canal and has been added to by Marriott with the addition of a modern hotel wing.
I only wish we could have stayed in the old part, it was magnificent .
The food, the atmosphere, the friendliness of the Egyptians I couldn't fault any of it and believe me, as an ex-hotelier and chef, I am one picky person to please!
Only one gripe and this is true of all Marriotts - please heat your pools! Every pool I have ever swum in at a Marriott resort is cold and if you look at the pools in most hotels, they are empty because they are so cold !! Please take note.
Can't wait to take our daughter back to see the Pyramids and stay at this lovely hotel.

"I love the JW Marriott in Cairo!!!"
think the previous poster meant to leave the review for Marriott Palace Hotel, because JW Marriott was not opened for the opening of the canal. The JW Marriot was build only couple of years ago.
I got married at this beautiful hotel and stayed there for 5 nights at one of their suites. We used the Ballroom for our wedding at this beautiful hotel and I had the best night of my life there!!
The staff vas very helpful and nice!!!!
The swimmingpools are great (they have 3 there) and one with sand and waves and you have a feeling that you are on the beach somewhere.
One word: LOVELY!!!

"Sumptuous Egyptian!"
Stayed at this hotel for three nights in Feb 2005. A great location up on the hills above the smog of Cairo but close enough to the city to get there quickly by car.
Wonderful rooms, we were in a two level suite, well appointed, good fast service. Security very high and a good feeling of safety in what is a relaxed, Middle Eastern Country with very friendly people.
As previous reviewer writes, great pools and beach and water park with slides / flumes and beach. Our room had a whirlpool bath too!
Breakfast good, dinner in JW Steakhouse okay but Australian steaks not very tasty - get Scotch, Irish or US Beef guys!
Hotel handy for International airport too.
You must try the Massage and Jacuzzi, Sauna facilities at linked Golf CLub. I am not a golfer, but plenty of people playing the course in front of the hotel.
Recommended.

"Wonderful Hotel"
My husband and I stayed at the JW Marriott from Feb. 2-8, 2005 and had an amazing time. The hotel is clean, the room was spacious and the variety of food choices was great (although we spent most of our time in the Ahlein restaurant ). Staff were friendly and most accommodating.
This hotel is a great option if you wish to combine relaxation with your sight seeing tours.
