"First Class Resort. Loved Every Minute"
We stayed at the kempinski for seven nights from 20th March. The hotel had only opened on the 1st March so we were delighted to be only the second people to sleep in our room. The hotel itself is a real hideaway and the staff were the most friendly and helpful I have come across, particularly in the restaurant and bar areas. We went to a wine tasting in the Enoteca one eveing and it was fantsstic. Unfortunately the very knowelegheable somelier did not speak much English but one of the restaurant managers was on hand to translate. We discovered some excellent Sicilian wines. The food in Dubessi restaurant was very high quality and we ate there most nights. We had one of the best rooms - 227 - which has views right down the centre of the complex overlooking the pool and gardens. South facing also so sunny all day. We were there for an Easter lunch which was excellent and it was nice to not be surrounded by lots of English tourists! Overall it was a great holiday. We recommend you hire a car and take trips to Erice, Selinunte and Agregento. Although at first glance Mazara town is not very picturesque, it's worth discovering the old town which is really pretty and take a walk along to the port area where there is a great atmosphere when the boats come in. We would definitely recommend the Kempinski and the wonderful hospitality of the Sicilian staff there.
