This brand new hotel has opened its doors in 2005 and offers 8000 sqm of wonderful gardens, a Spa centre with Jacuzzi and sauna, a gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, two restaurants and a bar. Furthermore, the hotel features a lounge area measuring 3600 sqm, divided into two 2 pavilions of the early 20th century and offering 11 meeting rooms seating from 50 to 1000 persons and an auditorium with a capacity of up to 420 persons.

"The initial kinks are gone: 5star supreme now blossoming!"
It's new - admitted, but all of Valencia is a construction site. The hotel itself is finished - only the spa area underneath the massive (I'd guess 20 x 20 meters) pool is still under construction - but you hear nothing: even at the pool. One warning: even here you have towel-dropping lounge chair reservers, so you might not get a free lounger on the upper deck. Huge dartk green towels are availabe at the pool bar, so no need to drag the ones down from your room. Rooms are big, roomy, quiet: I got an oceanside view and a fantastic room: light, bright and clean. Bathroom is huge and beautiful. Free Mini-Bar and not just WLAN (WiFi) in the room, but a fast one at that - great for emails and downloading work. Only critique: If you don't hang out the "please make the room" sign, it might take until 3 or 4 in the afternoon before it's done. The Tram line is 10 minutes away, or a Taxi into town for 8 Euros, but in return you have the beach promenade directly at your feet.

We stayed at the hotel in the second week of September and had a fantastic time. The problems with service that worried me when I read some reviews seem to have been sorted out. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular the concierge, who helped us book trips and dinner reservations and the lovely evening barman who made the best G&T's in town! The rooms are lovely, very clean, with a seaview balcony, TV, CD player, fluffy bathrobes, slippers, mini bar topped up twice a day and at night a turn down service with chocs and the weather report for the next day - gorgeus! Breakfast was included in our rate and the selection was really good, almost anything you could wish for including cakes, smoked salmon and champagne! The pool was stunning and overlooked the sea it had a nice terrace to have drinks and lunch. We didn't have any problems getting a sun lounger (maybe the hotel wasn't that busy?) and on our last day they were putting more loungers and sofas on the lower terrace. The huge beach towels were a bonus. The hotel is right on the beach and two minutes from a strip of restaurants and bars. The tram into the city is just over the road from the hotel and took about 15 minutes to get to Pont Fuste which is a 5 minute walk into the old town and cost 1.20 euro, a cab averaged about 8 eight euro. Food and drink at the hotel are a bit expensive but then it is a 5 star hotel and the rate we paid more than made up for the drinks bill ! Valencia has loads to see and do, we would definitely go back there and if we did we would most certainly stay at Las Arenas.
