"Loved Le Fenix"
Stayed for 3 nights at the brand new Le Fenix Sukhumvit along Sukhumvit Soi 11. Hotel is cool, young, and hip from its amiable staff to its architecture and interior design. Rooms are a bit on the small side but the nice design makes up for its size. Hotel is at least a 10 minute trek to the BTS station at Nana so its location may not be ideal for those who would rather not walk through the mayhem of Soi Nana. Breakfast at the hotel's cool signature restaurant was simple but filling. At around US$60 per night, this hotel presents exceptional value. Will surely stay again when I visit Bangkok in July.

"Nice Hotel"
As I write, I am spending my last night for a 4 nights stay in this new hotel. As previous reviewers had mentioned, the location is ideal. It's right at the end of Soi 11, where you turn left , it's at the corner.
Let's start with the hotel itself. The facade looks like a showroom of interior designers that you will mostly see in ID magazines. Chic. The reception is on level 2, smallish reception area, with the bar immediately next to it. The decor is minimalist. Lots of whites, including the tiles (similar to the ones you see at Bangkok new airport), and gets dirty easily.
The sofas, the rooms' cushioned wall panels and curtains have the "L" motif which is reflective of Le Fenix's logo. Tasteful.
The standard room that I stay in is of adequate size, a good King size bed, a white Samsung 32" LCD TV with 7 English language channels. There's a small bench/ writing table. The pillows are of polyester fibers type,, a tad soft for my liking. But the comfortable duvet makes up for it. There're 2 tubey lovely reading lights at each side of the bed.
Airconditioning can be controlled within the room. The toilet is small size, with mosaic tiles, retro chic, no glass door for the shower room, and yes, I did wet much of the floor beyond the shower area. Basic toiletries are provided, and they do provide papery slippers.
There's only one restaurant, called L'Escale, which serves as a breakfast room as well. The restaurant decor continues its minimalist theme. Choice at breakfast is very limited, not much Asian fare (fried rice, noodles and mixed vegetables) , the Western fare is the usual fried bacons, hams, and sausages and some pastries. If you're holidayng here, you can always go out and have breakfast , it's not worth it. Having said that, i did enjoy the cappucinos that they serve while I was leafing through the Bangkok Post.
I think it's a very new hotel and the staff are friendly enough, however you can see it's a bit of a rushed job where you noticed the cementing on the wall show hairline cracks, are testiment of rushed work.
As some one had mentioned, it's a basic hotel and good value for money and there's nothing luxurious about this hotel. But the decor are pleasantly done without feeling too pretentious. and you can't beat the location, with loads of chich restaurants , bars, and down right to seedy joints, roadside stalls, you have it all.
I had a meal at the Shin Dudoku which is at Soi 19, which is 5 min taxi journey, it's a really nice surroundings and food above average. There're a few 7 Elevens around the hotel, so you can buy your drinks there.
The Internet charge is exorbitant. 30 minutes charge is 160 Baht, 1 hour is 270 Baht, 24 hr is 540baht, and 2 days is 750Baht. So the 2 days card is the cheapest on average.
Overall, if you're holidaying and can take your time, this is a good hotel choice, that is if they still maintain at such rates. But not for Business traveller who need to travel beyond the city limits as there's always traffic jam around Sukhumvit Road. Otherwise, the Nana BTS station is just 10-15 min walk.
