"Beautiful Grounds, Wonderful trip"
I have stayed at Le Meridian, Saint Martin the past two Christmas Vacations, and I am going back this coming December. I have to say if I hadn't already been there 2 times already, I would be a little nervous to go after reading the reviews some people have posted... Whoever is writing these reviews must be used to staying at the Ritz Carlton, or Four Season's because this is a beautiful hotel. People, you have to remember this is the caribean, there is going to be an occasional bug, and it is hot out... what do you expect? The first time I drove up the Mountain and saw the resort, and where it is situated I was in Awe, it is truely beautiful. The Hotel is clean, yes the rooms could you some updating but they are by no mean "gross" or "discusting". The beach is private and quiet, and you feel as if you are in your own little word becuase you are surrounded by Mountains. If you are looking to go to a crazy spring break vacation, this is not the place for you, if you want a relaxing oasis, then it is. The only 'con' I do have to say is that there really is no night life. I would 100% reccomend renting a car and going out for dinners. There are so many amazing resturants on the French side, in Grande Cas especially. La Auburge Garmande, Bistro Caribes, Le Cottege, Bistro Nu... You truly feel like you are in France. You just have to do some research, and you won't be disapointed. Another thing I would defiantly reccomend, if you like to Jet Ski, DEFIANTLY do the Jet Ski tour through the hotel. They take you on a 3 hour tour all around the island on a Jet Ski, it is amazing. This place is beautiful. If you can't enjoy yourself in a georgus, relaxing setting like this, I don't know what you are looking for...

"Wonderful resort"
We jus got back on Sunday Feb19, 06 from St. Martin and stayed at the L'Habitation. I was very worried reading some of the bad reviews about this place and wasn't sure about staying on the French side, but from the minute i arrived i realized that it was a right decision. This resort is beautiful, very clean, rooms are good size and the cleaning crew visit your room twice a day, grounds are also beautiful and clean. This resort is surrounded by beautiful mountains and the ocean, so you get the best of both worlds. Beach is beautiful and clean, there are always umberellas and charis available so unlike some resorts you dont have to rush early to get a spot on the beach. The Staff at this hotel is very polite and nice. I never ate dinner there but the restauant served great meals at lunch. Breakfast was always the same pastries, cheese, jambon, eggs, pancakes, bacon and fresh fruits. I really couldn't think of a reason why anyone would not want to stay there. This resort is quiet at night because almost everyone heads out to other towns for food and entertainment but that is the charm of going to this island, there is so much to see why would you always want to stay at the resort. We also talked to so many people who have been coming back to this place year after year, and i would go back there again. Wonderful resort, highly recommend this.

"Great Place"
I stayed here a couple of years ago in the off season and it was great, my whole family (7 of us) enjoyed it. I recommend the catamaran to St. Barts, its a little expensive but a great trip. I think a lot of people don't understand that the staff is very relaxed and some people view this as bad customer service, but it's not. You have to understand that you are in the carribean and it's a different way of life. I thought the food was very good, our family actually ate at the one italian restaurant that is there just about every night and they were very welcoming. It's more personable when you go in the off season because there aren't a lot of people at the resort so the staff gets to know you. Besides if you think about it the reason the staff leave you alone is because you are on vacation!! They don't want to bother you they just do their job, but when you do need something they respond quickly; when we needed a ride back to the airport they arranged everything and made sure that we got a tour of the island before we left. I think it's a great family place and the beach is private because it's in its own little cove so you don't have to worry about random people walking around. I'd recommend it.
