Address: 22 Avenue Princesse Grace 98000 Monte Carlo
Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel
Hotel Information
Only hotel in the principality with a private beach...

Le Meridien Beach Plaza Monte Carlo has the luxury, calm and elegance that befits one of the most prestigious hotels in Monaco.

This hotel completed its “Cristal Concept Project” in 2005, featuring two glass towers added to the east and west of the main building; new lobby, L’intempo restaurant and bar, plus 66 new guestrooms with views of the Mediterranean.

A property that draws conference and holiday travelers, this hotel is more modern than historic, as few traces of the hotel’s original 1920s architecture remain. In the lobby, contemporary decor complements white-marble floors, a large blue crystal sculpture, and curved glass walls with impressive ocean views.

"Loved It!"
We stayed here from the 2nd - 5th March 2007 and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and willing to speak English. The room 3rd floor was on the east side in the older part of the building - it did not have a great view, and in the day time you could here the passing traffic, but it was perfectly pleasent and we spent two lovely evenings sipping champaigne on the large balcony before going out. The bed was huge - I am 6"5' tall and I could lie accross the bed with out my feet overhanging the sides! The bathroom had a lovely big bath and a very good shower. The Breakfasts were huge with lots of choice and very friendly helpful staff. We did not eat in the Hotel but did have a drink or too - it is not cheap, but come on this is Monte Carlo, personally I think a fantastic Large coctail at £10 is fine! As for the location, I think its perfect. Close enough to walk to the Casino and Harbour but far enough away from the centre to be quiet. If you are worried about prices when you get there, we found the £250 for two people for 3 days including all drinks, food and entitainment was pleanty (we didn't hold back)! We Loved it!

"time of our lives !!!!"
Wow what a holiday!!! Went there for the first time in 2003 and had a fabulous time with one of my girlie mates as she took me for my 37th birthday. On arriving via helicopter transfer ( only £35 each and well worth it!) we were very impressed by the hotel and on checking in found vereyone very helpful but please note you maybe asked for either 100 euro,s deposit on a credit card or in cash. Our room overlooked princess grace avenue but was very quiet and spacious. The facilities were great, lovely indoor pool and private beach and even though we went in nov we were still able to sit outside in shorts and t shirts. We ate in the hotel but also liked to try the local restaurants, one especially good italian restaurant is caoi pronounced chow, which is found on the opposite side of the road from the hotel about 500 yds away up on the bank , food excellent and very reasonably priced. Another bonus was next door to this is an irish bar macarthys ,again with very reasonable prices and they have some great live bands on,well worth a visit. We had such a great time that we returned last year and I intend to take my fiance for valentines next year . Enjoy !!!!

"far nicer than i had expected..."
I booked the hotel largely because I was able to get a very good deal on our room. I would not otherwise have chosen to stay in such a large hotel. I would definitely recommend that you opt for one of the 'crystal' rooms as we did(in one of the two glass towers and overlooking the sea). These rooms were much more spacious than others and had great views. Despite being a large chain hotel, the staff were incredibly polite, efficient and helpful - we even received a beautiful Easter egg in our room for Easter Day. The food in the outdoor terrace restaurant is excellent. I would definitely return to the hotel. We also stayed one night at the Columbus which was also a good find, if less centrally located. The helicopter transfer from the airport is also well worth it.

"Loved it , but I didnt Pay! (Thank God)"
I stayed here with a UK based Bank for 2 nights at the end of September. It was an absolutley beautiful spot and monte Carlo is Breath Taking. I must stress that this was all paid for by the Bank and woudl not normally be in my price range. When we arrived at the Hotel we were greeted with a Champagine Reception by the waiters , this was obvioulsy paid for by the Company but all the same it was really nice. The lifts were the most bizzare I have ever been in, more like the interior of a nightclub with neon ligthts and cow hide on the walls. The room we had was on the side of teh road but we were on the 5th floor so this didnt affect our sleep. Our room as decorated to a high standard and was very clean. I could not afford the price for thsi hotel ,but as previous people have mentioned Monaco is the playground of the rich and famous. There is a village called Ville Franche (I think , my French aint so good) Its pronouved Ville Fronshe . It was absolutley breath taking and check out the 16th century wine cellars on the way into the forified village.

"So lovely"
I stayed at Le Meridien for a few days last week and had a brilliant time. The room was gorgeous as was the beach and pool and the staff were so helpful and friendly. It is set away from the old town which is great as it is so quiet and relaxing. A walk to the old town lets you take in all the sites with plenty of bars for a rest on the way. Loved the restaurant next to the palace, the waiters were class, and the creperie down the alley by the snake was great too, especially L'Africanne. 8 euro's brings you back in a taxi. Villefranche-sur-mer up the coast is a good trip out, there is a great seafood restaurant on the quay and if you are lucky enough to get Freddie the taxi driver on the way home, it is a laugh. The Irish Bar up the road is great for a bit of craic, especially Sean the barman from Kerry! All in all, one of the best breaks I have ever had, Thanks Monte, can't wait to go back.

"Quiet Hotel !!!"
I was lucky enough to win a stay at this hotel recently and took my daughter with me. Right from the moment we arrived we were impressed with the level of service at this hotel. We were shown to our room (an Executive sea view room) and were shown how to operate both the aircon and the safe etc, We were also advised of room service menu and shown a booklet containing lots of information about Monaco. The room itself was large and very well laid out with two king beds a desk, bedside table, a large dresser containing a mini fridge. On the dresser was a large HD television. The bathroom was huge well lit with plenty of storage. The hairdryer actually had some umph (girls you know what l mean) The balcony was large with a table and two chairs and face out into the bay. The facilities at the hotel are well laid out and are really easy to find. For us the only downside was that during our stay there was a conference and the outside niose was so loud on one night that we were unable to sit out on the balcony to enjoy the sunset...that said because of the conference we also enjoyed an amazing fireworrk show free the following night so as they say swings and roundabouts... All in all we LOVED it and l am looking forward to going again and this time l even have to pay for it myself.

"Monte Carol and still not Bust!!!"
We have just returned from the Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel and what a delight it was. We stayed in the Crystal Rooms which were excellent. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied and the croissants to die for! We found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgable about the area. Monte Carlo is very expensive make no mistake BUT and it is a big But, you really do get what you pay for. We found a truly wonderful Restaurant which was packed to rafters most nights called the Piazzeria which was next to McCarthys Irish Pub on the Ave. Des Citronniers and although it worked out approx £50 per head (and one of those heads was vegetarian - i.e. plain salad only) it was worth it unlike McCarthys which was 30 Euros for 2 soft drinks and a pint and half of lager plus all the smoke you can inhale for free!!! We made use of the Monaco Passport which contained lots of free admission vouchers to the Museums, Aquarium, Palace etc. which although we would not usually of gone, were very impressed with. We also went to the Casino but be advised - No Passport - No Entry to the main Casino. Princess Grace Rose Garden is a delight and although not in bloom was very tranquil - shame we could not have done the same for Princess Diana. Out overall view of Monte Carlo was it is very clean (apart from the dogs poo!) the food is good and there really is lots of see. Only one place we felt we had been overcharged was out of the hotel to the left there is a Cafe cum Pizzeria who charged 7 euros for Pastis each and 9 euros for half a cup of Hot Chocolate - such a shame but you always get one! We hope this has been helpful and enjoy as it truly can be an amazing experience.

"Great time in a great hotel"
I went to Le Meridien for 3 days and had a great time. As a travel professional ( travel agent in Italy) I can truly recommend this hotel. Upon arriving you will do your check in seating at a beautifull desk, feeling like a special guest. This is a great touch of class. I had a delux ocean view room with a balcony facinfg the sea. Gourgeous view and big room with modern furnitures. The bathroom not to big but everything was there. I would suggest this rooms instead of the standard ones; they face the road. There are also newer rooms in the crystal towers, butifully appointed, bigger than the delux but no balcony. This is a personal preference, but i wolud rather have a balcony where you can sip a drink instead of a bigger room. A tip: always put the do not disturb sign on your door, otherwise you'll have someone knocking very early in the morning. Also, tv channel choice is limited. Breakfast in the room is good and i would suggest not to take the buffet, it is a bit overpriced for what you get. Actually it's more expensive than room service. The great thing about le Meridien is the private beach. Water is turquoise and there is always someone willing to help you with a drink or soda. The gin lemon is the best i've ever had. Sadly one of the beach guys, the ones dressed in red and wite, was not really doing his job....but all the others were great. And great it's also the service at the bar outside. A note: at le meridien you can drink and have food 24h a day. Even very late at night there was always someone with a smile serving you. I didnt try the restaurant beacause i always prefer not to eat at the hotel. Montecarlo is expensive and all the services at le meridien are not cheap, but i was expecting that and didn't find this place more expensive than others. The fact that you have your own private beach is a huge plus to this hotel. If going to Monaco think that temperatures are very high and if you don't even have a swimming pool your time will be hard to go by. Congratulations to all the staff for an excellent time at le meridien.

"so good had to go back"
I visited this hotel on a girlie holiday back in nov 2002. It was our first time in Monaco and we were extremely pleased with our holiday travel arrangements (arrived in monte carlo via helicopter from the airport) and even moreso the hotel its self. On arriving in reception we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and the surroundings were fabulous. On reaching our room we both had a queen size bed and small seating area with mini bar and a very luxurious bathroom, (Id love to see what the superior rooms are like !!!) The restaurant was excellant with lovely staff and an extensive menu. All in all our visit was such a success we went the following year nov 2003 with another 2 friends who were as impressed as we were. A definate one not to miss. We WILL return !!

"Excellent 2 week holiday"
This was the 2nd time that we have been here and it was just as great as the 1st -everything about the hotel and the location is superb. There is building work going on at the moment but with very little disturbance - the bar, restuarant and reception have moved into the Sea Club conference centre, but is still connected to the hotel. All the staff are extremely helpful and the rooms are a great size, and we only had a sea view standard room. All in all, and excellent hotel, with good amenities and we will returning again next year.
