In addition to the better known Tuscan cities, such as Florence, Pisa, Siena, Arezzo, Perugia and Assisi, there are many smaller towns and places which are well worth a visit and which can be easily reached by car from Le Terre dei Cavalieri. These include; Cortona and Pienza.

Other beautiful places to visit include; San Quirico d’Orcia, with its marvellous 13th-century Roman Collegiate Church and the 16th-century Horti Leonini; Sant’Antimo, with its charming Abbey, founded by Carlo Magno; Montalcino, kingdom of Brunello wine; Banfi Castle, ancient fortress on the way to the sea, recently restored and now museum of the most refined glass-making techniques for wine bottling.

* Le Terre Dei Cavalieri consists of a Farmhouse and a Leopoldina.

* You will be able to enjoy your breakfast in a kitchen that used to accommodate over 30 people at a time, sleep in a bedroom converted form the old cattle shed, or in the bedroom converted from the old dove-tower.

* The walls are adorned with paintings and pictures, but the best images you will be able to behold come from simply opening the windows onto stunning natural settings, such as the dark mountains hanging over Cortona, the sweet and seamless countryside and the profile of Cortona.

ROOM AMENITIES

* The 14 rooms were carefully furnished in typical Tuscan style with handmade-cotto floors, ceilings with original exposed wooden beams, stuccoed walls, original antique pieces and typical objects from the peasant tradition of the old days. Bed headboards were converted from old doors retrieved form the old farmhouse and finely restored; all bed spreads are hand-woven on the loom. Some of the rooms were named after the old farmers that used to live in them.

* All rooms are fully independent and look out over a large living-room; all rooms feature independent heating, air conditioning, safe deposit box, satellite TV, private telephone line, hair-dryer and private bathroom with crystal shower cubicles; some of the bathrooms are equipped with jacuzzi shower-sauna.
