"Outstanding Hotel"
I stayed here with my girlfriend for 4 nights at the beginning of a two week trip in Thailand during January. It was an outstanding way to start off the trip. I had booked a package that included transportation to the hotel in a 7-series BMW. This was definitely appreciated since we arrived at the airport at 11:30 pm and had never been to Bangkok. The hotel itself has a wonderful design. The rooms are all suites and are very large. Before going I didn't think it was really necessary to have that much space, but it was definitely appreciated when we were there as it was an escape from the bustling and crowded city. I liked the location of the hotel, as it was close (5 minute walk) to the sky train and river. The breakfast at the hotel's cafe was great. I looked forward to getting up and having that every day. Dinner one night at Mezzaluna at the top of the Dome was also included in the package that I booked. The meal was excellent and the service was even better. I would also highly recommend going to Breeze, an outdoor bar/restaurant on the 51st and 52nd floor. Truly remarkable. I had a great experience at this hotel and would definitely return, especially since it is a good value.

"A True Gem In Bangkok"
This property offers a perfect blend of attentive service and amenities of a small luxury hotel and the spaciousness, comfort and convenience of a serviced apartment. We stayed in the 2 Bedroom suite with our family of 4. There was ample living space, including a large kitchenette, two marble bathrooms with glass showers, desk area, dining area and two sitting areas. The suite had 4 balconies with incredible views of the Chao Praya and dowtown Bangkok. There was also a washer and dryer which unfortunately broke the first time we used it. This brings me to service at Lebua.... Contrary to a few other reviews, we never experienced anything but warm, gracious, smiling, and friendly service from at least 20 or 30 staff we encountered at our stay. When the washer broke, they removed the machine and did all of our wash at no charge. We were personally escorted to the room on arrival and greeted with their fruit basket and homemade chocolates. When I asked whether we could have another sample for my son (a chocoholic) they delivered a fresh batch every morning thereafter. Breakfast was delicious, with many choices, including Thai items and a miso soup station. Dinner at Sirocco was good, but honestly not worth the exorbitant price tag. It is a beautiful and unique dining experience, but hard to justify the cost. The staff there were all very polite, respectful and accommodating as well. There were many rules about what to wear and where you could take a photo, etc., but the wait-staff interacted with the clientelle in a warm and traditional Thai manner. Lebua is conveniently located, an easy walk to the Sky Train and Central Boat Pier. Several times while staying at Lebua, I commented, "I would love to live here." For me that's a great hotel.

"Amazing....stay stay stay!"
Just returned from a 3 night stay at Lebua in a one bedroom suite. We booked with the hotel website on a package which includes transfer & drinks at skybar. Def worth checking out as they have lots of packages. After 16 hours of travelling we arrived at Bangkok airport and were met by a firendly guy and a sparkling 7 series BMW for our transfer...great first impression! Then arrived at the hotel for in-room check in on our 56th floor suite..which was excellent in every way. Rooms - very spacious with v compfortable beds (amazing how many hotels dont get this right!) ammenities also good with Bulgari toiletries (seperate bath & rain shower). Bars/Food - we ate at Breeze on the 52nd floor - a very special restaurant that compares favourably with the best in London/New York...unfortunately this also includes the price ..around $250 (£125) for a 3 course meal with wine. The views are spectcular. Also the skybar on the top floor is great with cocktails around $8 (£4) which again is cheaper than most major cities but expensive for Bangkok. Buffet breakfast is included and is very good indeed...and served til 11.30 so no need to get up! Spa/Pool - had a great Thai massage with a very good therapist for around $30 (£15), 60 mins of stretching bliss! Lastly, I cannot praise the staff enough, including Mr Ohri (the G.Manager) they are trying to create a special place to stay in Bangkok and they are doing brilliantly, If you have any specific questions about Bangkok more than happy to help!

"Excellent Price, Excellent Location"
The Lebua was recommended to us, and I have to say it was great advice. The staff bend over backwards to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Nothing is too much trouble. The room we had was just fantastic - it was like an open plan apartment, with stunning views over the city. Shame the balcony was locked but that’s a safety regulation but still fantastic. They have an awesome skybar, which is not to be missed, beware of the No Open Toe Shoe policy - just no flip flops really - doesn't matter how nice they are :) When we come back to Bangkok there is no doubt in our minds that we will be staying there again.

"LeBua...a great experience"
I booked a package for this hotel on the hotel website after reading asiaroom reviews and seeing the pictures. My wife and I (in our mid 30's) spent 3 nights there and were really surprised at the size of the room--It was actually a suite! Really amazing... The package included a lunch at the restaurant there. It was truly a 5 star buffet. We were really impressed. No tourist-level crap here. Most of the diners were definitely Hi-So Thais. The staff at this hotel were wonderful and very attentive on ALL levels! We were going to go to the rooftop bars/restaurants at night but we were so pooped at the end of the day. They are supposedly magnificent. The only minor negative about the place was the location. We prefer staying near the Siam Square/MBK area for the shopping. This hotel is a slight bit out of the way, but its really not bad at all. I would highly recommend it especially since we got a good rate. One thing that brought the level of the hotel down were the crappy stores in the lobby (A cheesy tailored-suit store and a dumpy skin care place). There was a hair salon the massages your feet while you get your hair washed, which was not too bad. The Starbucks there also aided to the eyesore of the lobby(Don't care to see American stores while in Bangkok!!). Overall, it was a great hotel and I highly recommend it!

"Amazing stay"
I stayed at the Lebua in Late October 2006. I booked a package deal on line on their website for around $100 per night for three nights which gave drinking and dining vouchers. (Also included free in room wired internet, free non alcoholic minibar, limo service to and from airport, fine dining meal and wine and skytrain vouchers). The room was a suite on the 58th floor. The room was in very good order with the bedroom looking over the balcony and city, and the living space towards the inside of the building making it somewhat dark -- even though there was adequate lighting. The room was clean and well appointed. The marble bathroom was spacious and well fitted, and was provided with rather nice Bulgari toiletries. The room had a small kitchenette in the hallway, although there were no pots and pans to do any cooking. The deal I had provided free softdrinks, including Perrier, Coca Cola, Orange juice, Evian etc. The only alcoholic drink in the fridge was beer which was extra. Included breakfasts were in the restaurant by the pool which was very pleasant, it offering inside and outside dining, even though the outside dining could be a bit breezy. My plan also offered limousine service to and from the hotel. The young bespectacled man at the airport tried to tell me that there was no car for me on arrival, even though I had confirmed it from Sydney before I left, and tried to get me to pay 500 baht for another car. When I said I would wait for the proper car, it miraculously appeared. The car was an old Mercedes, though the car on the return was a much newer model, with the chauffeur offering me chilled water and a moist towel en route. The new airport is about a 40 minute drive away. (Incidentally, the new airport is very cool, so have your camera out). The hotel is in a very large building with some office space, and the foyer seems not quite properly populated yet, with a rather dark atrium of unused office/hotel space. This was the only 'Asian oddity,' during my stay. Just sail into the conceirge and don't look up! There are staff everywhere, who greet you in a traditional style which borders on the subservient, and gets a little bit too much when it happens when you pass every staff member. But it is well meant. The hotel rooms have big balconies but they are locked because of 'security' reasons. I suspect that if you dropped anything off them they would kill anyone passing by, which is I suppose reasonable enough reason to lock them. I don't think balconies would be permitted so high anywhere else. I did manage to open the balcony window, and will tell you how if you email me! geigerc0unter@mac.com (0 is a zero) Breakfasts were sumptuous with an additional pancake and waffle bar, in addition to the usual omelette chef. Lots of interesting pastries, some western and some eastern. Many of the chefs here are western, so there no 'oddities.' The Bircher Muesli was excellent as well as the plum and sultana compote. The biggest highlight, however, is the dome complex at the top of the hotel on the 65th floor. A bar, outdoor! restaurant, and indoor Italian restaurant. There is also an excellent outdoor cocktail bar attached to the restaurant. The food at the restaurant is first rate European fare, with service that borders on the perfunctory. I had a free dinner for two and a bottle of wine thrown in, which although was from a subset menu, was absolutely excellent. I looked at the al a carte menu and it was very interesting. They have a French Canadian chef who knows his stuff, and has no shame about ordering exotic western foods and champagnes! You can expect to pay here what you might do in a mid fare London Restaurant, unless you opt for the Beluga, but I guess it is cheaper there than it is here. I would really recommend a visit to this part of the hotel, even if you are staying somewhere else, it is quite amazing, and a little euphoric with the height. Not a good place to go if you are agoraphobic, however. The swimming pool is very large, and the water is quite cool. It seems to be away from the bustle and smog which is nice, but is not always the most inviting. When I was there many of the German residents, of which there were many, had taken all the sunny deckchairs! So get there early. There is also a good gym which seems mainly empty. The location of the hotel is good. It is near the skytrain, which is very useful. The hotel offer gave me free tickets for the duration of my stay. It is on the city side of the river which is good because cabs are slow due to the traffic, and in some ways best avoided. The local area isn't too salubrious however, although there are a few other posh hotels dotted around nearby, but don't expect boulevardes of posh shops next to the hotel! But its easy to move around from here, and I certainly felt quite safe in the area. In any case, look out for the deals on the hotel's website itself, can be better than those on the room only websites, and enjoy your stay.

"Excellent value at great hotel"
Lebua is a lovely hotel at an astonishing price. The lobby is nothing special but the rooms (all suites) are spacious, airy, immaculately clean and with great city/river views. Someone else mentioned thin walls - we didn't hear anything during our stay so no complaints there. The bathroom was good too with Bulgari products to use. No cutlery in the kitchen area though... Breakfast was the best we had in Thailand. The food in the different restuarants was also really good but pricey compared other restaurants or 'street' food. The rooftop bar is an amazing experience although they do have a dress code (so no flip-flops allowed). The hotel is located walking distance to the river and is a taxi/tuk tuk ride from nightlife and shopping. We had a fantastic couple of nights at this hotel - we thoroughly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

"Excellent Hotel"
Excellent hotel with large rooms containing lounge, fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom and large bedroom. Superb views over Bangkok, except you can't go out onto the balconies. Located behind the Shangrila Hotel, on the river, and 5 minute walk the BTR rail or the hotel offers a shuttle bus to the rail every 30 minutes. Rooftop bar / restaurants area on the 64th floor is absolutely amazing. The very small bar struggles to serve superb cocktails though so just go for the experience not for the drink. Lovely pool area which is sometimes a little shaded. Enjoy an excellent buffet breakfast overlooking the pool area. Unfortunately the outdoor area is also the smoking area too. Good service throughout and delightful property.

"home away from home..."
aside from the construction that was going on in the upper floors for a new and upcoming restaurant called "breeze," the hotel was in every inch luxurious down to the bvlgari toiletries! if i had known, i wouldn't have brought my own shampoo and conditioner! the food is outstanding -- breakfast, lunch and dinner! book in advance if you plan on dining at sirocco. the place gets packed as everyone wants to be out and looking over bangkok in style! next door, wine restaurant distil, in it's subdued hues is welcoming and away from the crowd, and you can enjoy a glass -- or bottle -- of your favorite vino. a bit pricey, but it must come from the import taxes. outside, watch for hecklers that would offer to take you to "exotic" places. ie, booby bars! haha! a bit annoying, but hey, it's bangkok! lobby needs work -- all that open space and it lacks character. the aquarium behind the front desk seemed empty. it's a short walk to the nearest sky train saphan taksin. but be prepared to walk through traffic, smog, and vendors. it has it's own appeal if you come from a country where you drive 95% of the time. the suites are roomy, and everyone from houseskeeping to concierge is very hospitable and accomodating.
