"good hotel in a charming location"
Hilton weimar is indeed not in a central location but the i had a view of the autumn foliage and sum very quaint lookin houses frm my window so i am not complaining. i walked to the city centre thru a tree lined road and it was very pleasant. the food is adequate tho nuthin special. Did use the fitness centre tho..the gym isnt very big but i was just happy to use the elliptical. the spa area tho was quite nice and spacious.the rooms however could do with a refurbishment cos the furnishings looked very 80s. But then the location is good and the size of the rooms is great by european standards so would stay here again if i ever go back to weimar.

"Great business hotel"
I was upgraded to the business floor 4 just because a Hilton Honors member, so I got the tea service, free bottled water, iron and ironing board, robe, newspaper, etc. that are not in the standard rooms. The room was quite large and comfortable, including a large bath. The desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, like many business hotels most everything does cost extra, so I didn't use the Internet or eat in the hotel. The hotel is located across the street from a lovely large park that is great for walking, running, and cycling. The hotel rents bicycles, but I did not have time to try one out. It is a 15 minute walk to the university and another 5-15 minutes to the sites in the center of town. The Number 1 bus also runs along this street and provides an inexpensive option every 15 minutes. A taxi from the train station costs E7-8. Bus groups do stay here, but I didn't find them overwhelming, just inconvenient when taxi trying to pick up or drop off when bus parked in front of hotel. On my last day they would hold bags or give me late checkout up until 2pm.

"Excellent stay"
With the given directions it is very easy to drive to this hotel. When you leave the highway on your way to Weimar, just drive trough and turn right after the second light in the city, the hotel will be on your right after a short drive. It is on a road with on one site a park and trees and on the other site the buildings. There is enough parking place outside for a fee and limited space in a garage, the latter cost more. We optioned for a covered spot and contacted the hotel by mail for a garage reservation. When we arrived, the reception employees were very welcoming. The room wasn’t ready yet, but we were given all the information we wanted. A young man gave very accurate and friendly assistance in the garage and they had posted a sign with my name for the reserved place in the underground garage. On the other side of the street leaves a bus to the City center every 15 minutes. Tickets are 1.50 euro one-way or 4.00 euro for a one-day ticket. With check-in we were given a plan of Weimar and a list with the bus schedule. It is not far to the center and Weimar is a relaxing and pleasant city. It was sunny that day that we were there early May 2007. We had an enjoyable walk in the pedestrian zone of the center. Prices of food and drinks are very reasonable, even when you sit outside on a nice terrace. We had made a reservation for an opera performance and we also collected the tickets (you cannot pay the tickets with a credit card at the Weimar theater!). When we came back our room was ready and we were given an upgrade to an executive room because of our Gold member status. The room was on the 4th floor on a corner and very spacious. It was a lovely room, with sitting area and work desk, windows on two sides and the view of the park was magnificent. On the table we found complimentary snacks, sweets and Evian water, there is also a coffee/tea set. The bathroom was very clean and nice; there was enough space to store our things in a walk-in closet. Unfortunately we couldn’t try the restaurant, as our performance started at 4:00 p.m. and ended on 9:00 p.m. (Wagner’s Walkure) and the restaurant closes at 10:00 p.m. almost the time that we were back in the hotel. (It was on a Saturday and we regret that we didn’t were there a day before. On Fridays the restaurant offers a fish buffet.) The breakfast in the morning was just fantastic. We found this in all a comfortable and excellent stay, with good service and friendly staff.
