"Pleasant rural retreat" This is the first hotel on the road up the Restonica valley out of Corte, being about 2km from the town centre. Corte itself is a pleasant little hill town with plenty of restaurants and shops. The hotel is an old building, therefore the windows are small, although we did have a view across the river from our room. The room itself was basic but clean. There is an outdoor pool which we did not use (too cold!) and a jazcuzzi (for no extra charge) which we did. The buffet breakfast was good by French standards. The hotel does not serve evening meals, so we either drove into Corte or walked to one of the other hotels in the valley. Parking was a bit limited, especially when we arrived as there was a baptism party taking place. There is just about enough for all the guests as long as there is no special event taking place. Nearest public transport is in Corte a couple of km away.
