Lev Hotel was built in 1964 as a first-class hotel. Among its guests were Agatha Christie, Orson Wells, Kirk Douglas, Louis Amstrong and Ray Charles. Extensively renovated in 1995, the hotel is always being improved and standards maintained in order to offer guests a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Formely the Intercontinental Hotel, this is the only 5 star hotel in Slovenia and is located in the heart of the business district of Slovenia's capital city, Ljubljana.There are great restaurants, bars, theatres and other venues for a good night out on any day of the week.

Lev Hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city centre, fashionable district. The exclusive shopping & business address (like Versace, Armani, Escada, Baldanini, Boss etc.) are all within easy reach. It is close to the Opera House, Theatre, Fair/exhibition centre, museums, galleries, cultural centres. * Restaurant 'Rusalka':
The hotel restaurant offers rich American buffet breakfast daily from 06.00 until 11.00 as well as business buffet lunches and dinners on weekdays. It is open for á la carte daily from 12.00 until 23.00. The restaurant offers national and international cuisine and a large selection of beverages.

* Bar 'Kurent':

Disappointment
This hotel is not really a 5* and is no better than some of the other 4* in the city. The room was quite small, the bathroom the bath was very small.

"Good hotel in a decent location."
The Lev is the top hotel in Ljubljana, and although not absolute top class in my opinion, we enjoyed our 3 night stay here. It is in a good location, only a 10 minute stroll or so to the main square and the river. Also very near the railway station. It was fairly expensive (well over $100 per night), but there do not seem to be that many hotels in Llubjana as yet, hence the highish price. The rooms are very nice, I would say they have definately been refurbished in the recent past. Breakfast was included in our rate and was excellent. Would definately stay here again.

"Hotel fine Ljubljana 5*"
I stayed at here on a two night break with my mum in May. I liked the location of the hotel with it being a 5 or so minute walk to Plecnik square (or circle would be more appropriate) and same distance or so to the bus and train station and also the park. The hotel is very business orientated, you will see from the dress of the guests. We didn't find this a problem perhaps more of an amusement. Our room was nice, nothing out of the ordinary but was well furnished, clean and was more than adequate for our needs. The choice for breakfast was excellent. Any more time there and I'd put on some serious weight!!! There's a nice bar/lounge area, we'd sit and have a glass of local wine (excellent) and read a paper and have a little cake before having a look round the town. You can hire a driver if you want to go out and about perhaps visit lake bled? Unfortunately for us the weather was terrible our main day but we had our own guided tour around the city. I can't remember our guide's name however his knowledge of the city was exemplary and English fantastic. We gave him a nice tip as he deserved it. I loved ljubljana. Not touristy, beautiful riverside cafes, great architecture. It's even got a Zara!! Go and enjoy it before the stag groups get there!

"Very good hotel"
I stayed at Hotel Lev in May 2005 for 4 nights. The room was very clean, spacious and the bathroom had an excellent shower. There was a reasonable choice of English speaking channels on the TV including Sky, CNN and BBC Prime. The walls are a little thin which is a shame because otherwise this hotel was really excellent. Overall the hotel exceeded my expectations and was good value compaired to some of the 4 star hotels. I booked the room with Octopus Travel. Hotel staff were helpful, finding out bus times, etc. There are regular buses to Bled, Bohin and the Postojna Cave. The hotel is not far from the train/bus station and it’s about a 10 minute walk to the main square. The breakfast served is really excellent with plenty of choice.
