LOCATION

The Libertador Lake Titicaca is located on Esteves Island on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. The Libertador Lake Titicaca is only five minutes away from downtown Puno, 45 minutes from the Manco Cápac International Airport in Juliaca and two hours from the Bolivian border.

Lake Titicaca: According to legend, Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, children of the sun god and founders of the Inca Empire, emerged from the waters of the lake. Peru and Bolivia share sovereignty over the highest navigable lake in the world (3810 masl).

The Floating Uros Islands: The inhabitants of this group of 40 large, floating, reed islands continue living the way their ancestors did. An average of 30 to 50 persons live on each island in houses made of reed. Among the best known islands are Toranipata, which is the largest island, Santa María, Paraíso, Pacha Mama and Tupiri.

The Cathedral: Completed in the eighteenth century, the Cathedral stands out due to the quality of its structure and its stone carvings.

Sillustani Archaeological Complex: 34 km north of the city of Puno (approximately 35 minutes by car). Famous for itschullpas, which are circular stone towers built to hold the remains of the most important authorities of the ancient inhabitants of Collao. The largest one is 12 meters high and has an unusual structure, as the base has a smaller diameter than the upper part.
