Direct access from the Highway A8 .
Exit"Promenade des Anglais", then take Musée Chéret direction(see on the map).
From the railway station
Going out of the station, take bus 12 or 23, direction "Constellation" or "Aéroport", bus stop called "Grosso".
from 5.35 to 20.35, one bus every 13 minuts during the week (45 minuts on sundays)

You can directly buy it cash to the driver
From the airport
Going out of the station, take bus 23, direction "Saint Maurice", bus stop called "Grosso CUM".
From 6.00 to 20.50, one bus every 10 minuts during the week (15 minuts on sundays)

You can also cath the shuttle that going from the airport to the center of the town by the "Promenade des Anglais", bus stop called "Grosso CUM".

Avoid Hotel Locarno at all costs
Booked my parents for a two night stay. One day before their scheduled stay an important family matter came up and my parents wanted to cut their trip short and return early so I contacted the hotel (on a Friday) and asked if my parents could cancel and what the penalty would be. I was told they would have to ask the manager on Monday (the day my parents were scheduled to leave) so my parents decided not to cut their trip short and to use their reservation. Then without informing anyone they went ahead and canceled my parents reservation! My parents had to stay in an inferior room with uncomfortable beds. Beware! This place will be quick to take your money but the customer service is horrible and they have a bad attitude. We spend over $300 a night for this? You can do much better than this. |

"Good value, good location"
The Locarno is good value if you just need a place to hang your hat while exploring Nice and the Cote d'Azur. It's neat and clean with a comfortable bed. And it's in a very quiet neighborhood.
The location is ideal for reaching the Ave. de Englaise by foot, but a bit far from the heart of the city. However, if one is staying in Nice with the idea of driving around to explore the Cote d'Azur, it's ideal; just a quick drive to the motor way that'll get one anywhere. Do plan to rent a parking space in their garage. Street parking is just impossible.
I enjoyed my stay so much because the main staff all speak English and all went out of their way to make me feel welcome and special.
