A family run hotel and bestows warmth and a friendly welcome.
Loch Kinord Hotel is an excellent 2 star superior property built in the late 1800's and was originally an up market hotel for wealthy fishermen, stalkers and travelers. It was previously called "The Profeits Hotel" being built for the 2 nieces of Queen Victoria's doctor - Doctor Profeit. Nowadays, with the demand for en-suite accommodation, the rooms are smaller to accommodate bathrooms, however, it is still a popular destination for fishers, stalkers and tourists.
The hotel has just become one of the few hotels in the Grampian and Royal Deeside area to achieve the AA Rosette award for excellence in its cuisine.
The elegantly decorated restaurant was recently refurbished to give a more formal, yet relaxed environment, in which to enjoy the menus. There is also an open fire, which, together with the candlelit tables, gives the ideal venue for a romantic meal or special occasion. |

LOCATION
Loch Kinord Hotel is surrounded by some of the most picturesque scenery Scotland has to offer, being located at the edge of the Highlands in the heart of Royal Deeside. With the Cairngorm Mountains in the distance and the flatter glens in between, the area is a must for walkers, golfers, skiers and tourists alike.
The hotel backs onto the Muir of Dinnet Nature reserve which is well known for its natural beauty and wild life and makes excellent walking. An easy walk around Loch Kinord, from where the hotel gets its name, is a good way to spend half a day in the country. Some of the other local walks can be found under the activities section.
South from the hotel is the famous River Dee which flows through the Royal Estate of Balmoral 10 miles up stream. Because of the Royal connection, the river is still a quite exclusive salmon fishing location.
The hotel is situated in the tiny village of Dinnet which is located mid way between the villages of Ballater and Aboyne. Ballater is well known for its Royal customers, with many of the shops displaying Crests of various members of the Royal Family.
Aberdeen city is only 35 miles away, following the course of the River Dee to its mouth on Aberdeen's sea front. Aberdeen is well known for its oil links and is the "Oil Capital of Europe". Aberdeen, therefore, is quite a wealthy city and provides good shopping. Aberdeen is also referred to as "The Granite City" with most of the houses being built from granite stone excavated from a single quarry.

"Wonderfull hotel"
We stayed 7 days and enjoyed this lovely hotel with the superb and friendly service and the very good food. Personally liked the warm atmosphere and the charming non-smoking lobby. Had only 5 minutes walk to the Dee for fishing. Will for sure come back!
