Hotel Information
Set in the exclusive residential Parioli district of Rome, on the edge of the Borghese Gardens...

Built as a villa in the 1930s, Hotel Lord Byron is set in the exclusive residential Parioli district of Rome, on the edge of the Borghese Gardens. The Spanish Steps and Via Veneto are a stroll away.

A white-gloved doorman greets guests at this former Patrician villa, built in the 1930s. Glossy dark woods complement black- and-white striped carpeting and silver light fittings. This area merges into a seating area with large sofas, books, and fresh flowers.

The hotel offers a restaurant and bar, both of which are Art Deco in style. Port and petits fours are offered in the evening; croissants, chocolate-filled brioche, coffee, and juice are served in the morning. Public-area walls showcase paintings from the owner's private art collection. The works are by Northern European artists such as Paul Joron Maurice and Nicholas Granger Taylor; most date from the early 20th century.

"Great place, don't miss the SAPORI restaurant!!!"
I had a great time, lovely staff and enjoyed one of the best stays in Rome. I suggest that anyone travelling to Rome experience this grand hotel. There is a courtesy shuttle bringing you downtown (even if the hotel is not far from Via Veneto) and my children were happy to discover the restaurant has delicious dishes. We had a very pleasant experience as arrived very early in the morning and they kindly allowed us the get our rooms upon arrrival. The staff was helpful and anticipated us at all times. Another couple staying at the hotel at the same time reported it was their sixth stay at the hotel! We enjoyed eating the delicous Italian specialties at SAPORI rest. and discovered they mainly use organic meat and vegetables. We'll try their Florence hotel as we indeed were impressed!

"Romantic Weekend in Rome"
This was my 4th time to Rome and it was a romantic weekend getaway for my husband and me. We were very happy with the look and feel of the hotel and the service was excellent. Our room was good sized and large by Rome standards with elegant decor, a big tub and big fluffy towels. Our beds were turned down every evening with complimentary slippers placed next to the bed. We both thought the hotel bar was very cool but we were slightly disappointed with the Sapori restaurant. The service was excellent, appetizers were great, the wine and deserts were to die for but both of our entrees were a big disappointment, especially considering the prices and glowing recommendations. One other small, nit-picky item: To add to the luxury feel of our weekend we paid extra to have a private sedan pick us up and drop us off at the train station (45 euros each way vs. 10 for a cab). We were picked up in a Mercedes sedan, which we loved, but our trip back was in a minivan (we were told there were no sedans available)--it would have been better to just get a cab. This wasn't really the fault of the hotel but the hotel called this company for us and it's a small thing to be aware of if you ask for this service. This hotel is off the beaten path and definitely not central to Rome, but since we had previously done a big sight-seeing trip this was perfect for us. The hotel is a short, easy walk to most of the museums in the Borghese gardens but not much else. It's not difficult to get into central Rome, however, with the hotel's complimentary shuttle (a 5-minute ride) which drops you off a block from Via Venetto and 3-4 blocks from the Spanish Steps. Be aware, the last shuttle bus to the hotel was at 6:15pm during our stay. Cabs into town are not that expensive though. We had dinner one night near the Piazza Navona and we paid 10 Euros each way (including tip) for a cab ride. All in all it was a lovely experience and I would stay here again for a relaxing, romantic getaway.

"peaceful and elegant"
We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Italy. Our first stop was in Rome, and the Lord Byron was our first hotel. Everything about this hotel was fantastic. The service from the time I called from the states to the time we left on the train to Florence was excellent. They were so patient with me as I am quite picky!! Although it is a little off the beaten path of downtown Rome, this place is worth it. After a long day of site seeing and shopping it was such a pleasure to be back at this little gem of a hotel. On one night my husband and I went down to the bar in the hotel which is just the right size and a group of very attractive Roman women were assembled. One of the ladies got up and started what seemed like acting out a play to her friends. As my husband and I don't speak the language we were not able to understand, but you couldn't take your eyes off of her. It turns out she was quoting Donte to her friends! One of the ladies was the owners' wife, and she was so gracious to us. The rooms are gorgeous, the staff is helpful without being in your face, and the food was fantastic!! There is so much more I can write about this hotel, all of which would be positive!! We also stayed at the sister hotel the Regency in Forence consitant with the Lord Byron, it was also a gem.
