* Noteworthy are the renovations to all of the rooms, making them even better appointed. The beds are taller and sport softer mattresses, more pillows and new white bedding. The decor now shows lovely beige, lime-green and white, set off by dark tropical wood furnishings and polished cream tile floors. Amenities in all rooms include double or king beds, 31-inch TVs (all soon to be LCDs, except the Presidential Suite, which has plasma)with pay-per-view movies, multiple phones, clock radios, coffeemakers, minibars, digital safes, desks, irons and ironing boards, voluminous combination baths with huge marble counters and hair dryers.

* Wireless Internet access is available only in the ocean-view rooms, which are recommended. Other rooms require cable connection and exact a fee. The best choice is one of the 29 rooms that offer balconies and ocean views.

* Security is excellent here. A vigilant Marriott security team keeps watch, with the help of a multitude of cameras, around the clock. Every room has smoke detectors and sprinklers.
