"Nice hotel in great location" After staying in subpar hotels throughout my trip to Brazil, this hotel was a little bit of luxury to me. I stayed in one of the front deluxe rooms with a separate sitting area overlooking the ocean. The highlight of the room was a fantastic "rain" shower with outstanding water pressure. I found the staff very efficient and the breakfast substantial. They don't have a problem with you bringing friends to your room provided they register. I was able to beat the Internet rate by walking into the hotel after confirming that rooms were available earlier in the day. This is my "trick" to always getting the best rates at hotels! There are several Luxor hotels in Rio so make sure you book the right one. Also, specify which Luxor hotel to your taxi drivers. This is one of the smaller Luxor hotels

"Very good hotel with friendly staff" I stayed at Luxor Copacabana from 21 to 27 september 2006 with a group of 26 people. The hotel has excellent services, the breakfast is substancial, with several tropical fruits, the restaurant is very nice and clean, the service is great. All our rooms where with a partial view of the beach, small size, but cosy and clean, with AC. The bathroom has a great shower with "rain" system and outstanding preasure of water, and medium size. All the staff is very helpful and efficient. The location is great, in the middle of Copacabana, in front of the ocean and a beautiful beach. The restaurant opens for lunch and dinner, but close to hotel are many option to eat for less. The gym and sauna are small, but very complete for the quantity of guests in hotel, it opens from 08:00 to 22:00. The taxis wich stays in front of hotel are knowed by the staff, and the rates are the same in comparison with street taxis. One night I toke a taxi in Ave. Atlantica to Lapa, and it costed about 20 Reais, at the next night 4 members of the group toke a taxi reccommended by the bellboy, and it costed the same. I want to congratulate all the staff for the great service with this group and the good conditions of this hotel, speccially the staff of the reception, with wich we had more relations, but all where great. I have seen some other Luxor hotels in Copacabana, and really I reccommend the Luxor Copacabana as the best
