"Great Hotel Great Value"
I am suprised to read the other reviews about this hotel and thought that i should share our experience here. We booked this hotel for 1 night while on a driving trip around south/south west Ireland. It was my girlfriends first time in Ireland.( I am from Tipperary) We enjoyed this hotel so much we even stayed an extra night. It is a great base if you are travelling around Co. Clare and on to Galway. The room we had was tidy and modern, the food and drink was great and cheap, the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool and gym were great. If this hotel has come down so much since we visited then it is sad. We had as nice time there.

"Thoroughly enjoyable stay"
I was actually looking for reviews on another hotel that I intend to stay in when I came across the bad reviews for this hotel and felt I had to respond. I stayed at the West County last month with my boyfriend and we found none of the problems that have been mentioned on other reviews. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, the staff in this hotel did every thing possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay. They were very friendly, helpful and polite, and we had quite the laugh one night in the bar with the guest liason. Our room wasn't large, but it was a perfect size for the two of us and it was spotlessly clean. I'm sorry that other reviewers had such a bad experience because ours was anything but.
