Burlington a Winner
I stay there frequently, travelling from Australia.
the staff are so friendly, efficient and decent. not always the classiest but wonderful. Rooms are clean and well maintained, bathrooms a fraction old but not a problem.
Even the staff cleaning the rooms are friendly and decent, the restaurant and breakfast are great and the position is great.
The spa has been out of use for some time, in all i love the Hotel and won't stay anywhere else in Birmingham. |

"Enjoyed this one very much!"
One-night business trip stay, this hotel is excellent for business travellers in need of some comfort and a good night's sleep. In general i find business travel is to be tolerated rather than enjoyed, but i actually enjoyed staying here and would certainly recommend it and return.
Pluses: Very tasteful and modern decor. Shower head the size of a dinner plate, and bathroom generally pleasant although not absolutely spanking new. Flat screen TV, if you're fussed about watching TV!
Large king size bed (though actually 2 singles put together, see below!). Very quiet indeed.
Breakfast was terrific, plenty of choice, fresh fruit etc, and a cooked menu included kippers (made my other half very happy) included in the £120 odd we paid for the room. Staff generally very professional and helpful.
Minuses: we arrived at 10pm and the night staff were a bit Addams Family to say the least, not exactly in keeping with the rest of the hotel but it did give us a laugh.
When putting 2 single mattresses together to make a king size bed, it's perhaps best to check that they don't have a height difference of more than several inches!
Finally, they wanted to charge us something like £25 for a day's wireless internet connection (really just to pick up email) which is ridiculous. Don't bother paying up - we found that there were other networks in the area which we managed to connect to for free from our room!

"Made me feel special"
We have just returned from a very memorable birthday weekend at The Burlington. From check in to check out we were made to feel very special. We upgraded to a club room which was fantastic, very modern style with a trendy bathroom!. The reception staff were very freindly and I even received a bottle of wine and a birthday card! Birmingham city centre is great with fantastic shops and plenty of places to eat and drink. Overall we enjoyed our stay so much we are in the process of booking to go back in the next few weeks. If you are planning a trip to Birmingham, The Burlington is the place to stay!!

"A Super Stay at the Burlington"
My family and I have just spent two nights at the Burlington and had a really lovely stay there. It was a rocky start because confirmation of our room requests never arrived even after two e-mails and two telephone call chases, so I was a little apprehensive that our stay would run smoothly. Happy to say that it did, we booked two interconnecting Executive rooms which were very spacious and clean with lots of character.
The breakfast room was very busy but the food was of a high quality. We all ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night, only complaint was the closeness of the tables to other guests. The food was of a high standard, a few minor mistakes were made with our order but with the charm and friendliness of the staff it ended up not mattering at all. Would definately stay again, and hope to after experiencing the fantastic shopping areas of Birmingham!

"Birmingham Bull Ring Shopping Trip"
The hotel is in a great location, right near to the main New Street station and witihin walking distrnace of the famous Bull ring shopping centre. The rooms are huge and offer great value for money. I booked my room on laterooms.com. A little winner-with some fab bargins (our room cost £59 with breakfast included(english/continental). The hotel also has a resturant (not used but looked reasonably proced) and a bar area. The staff are friendly and for a four star hotel they are great value for money. The only downside is that you can hear outside noise, which probably depends on the position of your room.
