"Very Tranquil Setting"
I visited the hotel for 2 nights with my mother and son for a half term break. You can see it has been re-furbished. We were disapointed that the Linden Tree Pub which is in the hotel grounds was closed for a re-fit and we found the Dobson Restaurant a bit too formal for an 9 year old we were,nt impressed with the vegtables served with the evening meal but the breakfast was plenty to choose from and we enjoyed a bar meal served in the drawing room on our 2 nd. night. My mother was only allowed to smoke in the bar. The leisure facilities are excellent. But the 2 nights cost us over £400 without lunch. The bedroom doors made a noise and the deliveries at 8 a.m. outside our bedroom window were noisy too but I would still go back and stay at Linden Hall again.

"A special place"
We had our wedding and reception at Linden Hall in 2003 and I cannot fault it. Though I may be biased, the food was the best I have ever had at a wedding! The setting is stunning, the building beautiful and the staff very freindly. Unlike many 'country house hotels' of this standard, there is nothing stuffy about Linden Hall - the atmosphere is very relaxing and homely. It does have a certain faded elegance and some people may feel some areas are in need of refurbishment. Personally, I am thankful the interior hasn't lost it's character as many of these beautiful buildings taken over by large corporations end up looking like carbon copies of each other on the inside - if I want to feel I'm in an airport hotel I'll book into one! For a spacial treat book the champagne breakfast served in your room - it's worth it! A wonderfully romantic place and we'll be back again and again.
