"De-Lightful Barriere"
My wife and I were adequately impressed with this hotel. Although initially accomodated in a smallish room due to availability (compared with 5 star hotel room sizes we are accustomed to in South Africa), we were genuinely impressed when accomodated in the 'best suite' (must have been my wife's charm), sea-facing and with 'open' balcony. The service and attendance of the staff were impeccable in our experience, from first greeting to bidding us bon voyage, and which really contributed to making our first visit to the famed city-of-light a truly de-lightful experience. Sure, 'de-lightful' may not be a wanton description preferred by the Grand, an establishment frequented by great stars and dignitaries alike, but the staff's sheer professionalism, hospitality and sincere interest expressed in our well-being, made this a 'come-back-for-more' experience for us.

"Grand Old Hotel"
We had a most pleasant stay at this fine hotel. Our room had a great view of the sea. Location on the Croisette was exactly what we were looking for. If you're on a tight budget this probably isn't the one, but if you're looking for an upscale traditional hotel with great service you will enjoy the Majestic.

"Deservedly top drawer"
This is, by reputation, one of the three best hotels in Cannes (the other two being the Carlton and the Martinez) and it doesn't disappoint. Yes, it is expensive, but if you don't want to pay top dollar, look elsewhere. For your money you get unsurpassed glamour, the best location in town, excellent staff and two superb restaurants.
Having said that, we found a good deal on Expedia, so relative bargains can be had. But don't stint. Come here prepared to lay out the money, don't penny-pinch and you will have a ball.
