The Malardrottningen Hotel a unique hotel, a converted luxury yacht (1924) permanently berthed on the waterfront, less than a 5 minute walk from the Old Town.

Due to the fact that the Malardrottningen Hotel is a converted yacht, space is very limited and the bunk bedded cabins are compact. Accommodation is basic and cramped, but overall the Malardrottningen Hotel has a brilliant location for the price, so if you just need a base from which to explore the city then this unusual property may fit the bill. The Malardrottningen Hotel is certainly fun for a short break...

charming hotel! perfect location!
Really loved this hotel. We stayed in room 314 which had a really nice view of the water and the city :-) Close to the main station and main streets in the old part of the city! Lovely stuff and wonderful breakfast. Ask for a room with a bathroom.

"Fantastic location"
I expected my cabin to be small and indeed it was -but for one person there was plenty of room & storage space. I booked a single but the room could sleep two -although that would have been a little cramped -& the top bunk was the ideal place to store my large suitcase (they do however have larger cabins aboard) The bathroom arrangement was unusual with shower controls attatched to the sink and a backboard that swung round to block off the toilet and form a shower cubicle - but it actually worked better than any shower I have ever used! I was on the first floor and at the end of the corridor there is a small deck complete with tables & chairs & great views over the sea to Sodermalm which was only locked between 2am & 6am. The buffet style breakfast was fabulous too. The location of the boat has got to be the best in Stockholm, Riddarholmen is very peaceful but also very close to all the attractions and there is an entrance to the Tunnelban a couple of minutes walk away (with a small 7/11 inside and a supermarket the other side at the Gamla Stan entrance) I stayed for 5 nights and loved it -booking through destination stockholm the Stockholm card is also included which gave some great savings!
