LOCATION

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hong Kong is located opposite Victoria Harbour and connected by walkway to the Landmark shopping complex. This 25-story hotel is within three blocks of shopping and dining areas.
PROPERTY AMENITIES

* Vong:
Dramatic black marble and columns lead into a small bar area that overlooks the city from the 25th floor. With views of Victoria Harbour, the Thai-themed dining area is dominated by a solid-brass, lotus-leaf cauldron. Cuisine is contemporary French with Asian influences. Open for lunch on weekdays and dinner nightly.

* Man Wah:
This fine-dining restaurant has rosewood ceiling beams and 50 lacquered-enamel and gold-plated ceiling lamps resembling bird cages. Tables feature 24k-gold show plates, carved gold-and-ebony chopsticks, tiger-eye stone napkin rings, gold-plated spoons, and bonsai trees in porcelain holders. Cuisine is Cantonese and seafood, with a selection of teas served from a solid-brass kettle. Open for lunch and dinner.

* Mandarin Grill:
This restaurant echoes a European private club with its low ceilings, red carpets, hunter-green walls, dark-wood panels, bronze railings, and baby-grand piano. Cuisine emphasizes British and international fare, with steaks prepared at a circular char-grill and an extensive wine list. Open for weekday breakfast and daily lunch and dinner.

* The Café:
The decor of this street-level restaurant includes mosaic floors, arched gold-stenciled columns, and rich colors. Light and healthy European and Asian dishes are featured, with a good range of wines by the glass. Open from early morning to late evening.

* The Clipper Lounge:
Deep sofas and armchairs and low tables make this mezzanine lounge popular for afternoon tea, as well as lunch and dinner buffets. Open from early morning to late evening.

* Chinnery Bar:
Named after the 18th-century British artist George Chinnery, this small bar has dark-wood panels, leather banquettes, upholstered armchairs, and mahogany tables. British pub-style cuisine is served, and 120 single-malt whiskies are available. Open from late morning to late evening.

* Captain’s Bar:
This bar by the main hotel entrance has deep-red sofas, black-leather armchairs, and Chinese wall prints. Serving draught beer in silver tankards and light snacks. Open from late morning to late evening.

* Located on the 24th floor, the hotel's health club features a Roman-themed, 66-foot indoor lap pool surrounded by marble floors, columns, and statuettes.

* The 24-hour gym has free weights and cardiovascular equipment, including 10 treadmills with individual TVs and headsets.

* Other facilities include saunas, steam rooms, hydro-steam shower in the women’s section, and a hot-and-cold spa tub in the men’s section.

* The 24-hour business center has large windows overlooking the city and harbor; high-speed Internet access is available.

"A great hotel for business or for pleasure "
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hong Kong staff were extremely professional and hospitable. When our enormous plasma TV was playing up, there was a technician in the room within 5 minutes to fix it. A great hotel for business or for pleasure and its location in Central makes it ideal for sightseeing, shopping or eating out. Our only criticism is that the steam rooms are not unisex. We had a deluxe harbour room and although not huge, it was very comfortable and well designed. The bathroom was of a good size, immaculately clean and the double shower a dream.
Rating
"Excellent"
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hong Kong is a true jewel in Hong Kong’s list of great hotels. All good businesses aim to “surprise and delight” their customers and on that basis the hotel scored 10/10 when we were met from our limo transfer from the airport by staff who knew our name and escorted us straight to our room to complete check in formalities. Excellent.
