"Out of this world"
Wow! What an amazing start to a holiday
My partner and I booked a trip to Austalia and as the journey is a long one we decided to stop over in Singapore for a few nights.
Not knowing what Singapore was like let alone the hotels we took a gamble and chose The Oriental Hotel - the pictures looked amazing on the website so we thought why not!
We arrived and I must say the pictures were great but nothing compared to the real thing! On arrival our bags were taken to our room which was the Premier city suite, and we got shown round the hotel by the staff. The hotel is faultless, the decor is amazing and completley compliments what the hotel is offering. The swimming pool is amazing which also has a childs pool too.
Our hotel room was amazing totally out of this world, the bathroom was huge, plenty of strorage and a lovely comfy bed. What was a nice surprise was that as we was on one of the suite floors we had complimentary breakfast and evening canapes, all of which was fantastic and on our very own floor!!!
What I loved about the hotel was how friendly people were, very helpfull and always smiling - just what you want when you are on holiday. The hotel was very very clean and we felt like royalty!
The choice of restaurants was brilliant to, there were plenty to choose from continental, japanese, tai, american etc.
The hotel is very very close to the harbour and shopping malls and is a 5 minute taxi journy to the local markets and orchard road. I felt that Singapore was very cheap but if you want to spend big bucks then head to Orchard Rd where all the boutique shops are - if your looking for something traditional, a bargain or electrical items at a great price then head to the markets at china town!
In my opinion the price of the Hotel was very cheap considering what you pay for a basic hotel in England what you get at the oriental is loads for your money. If your thinking about going here then I would definatley recommend booking one of the delux, or premier suites as breakfast is thrown in (but double check before booking) !
Overall the hotel and the area was spot on - we will be definatley be returning to this hotel - 10 out of 10!

"Superb: Words can't do it justice"
Well, I don't quite know how to write about this hotel without making it sound like an advertisement. We came with high expectations, due to all those positive reviews, but The Oriental exceeded even those.
The interior architecture is breath-taking, and the view from our room (city side) was so spectacular that it looked almost unreal. Food and drinks in the Club Lounge were superb, as was the service in every part of the hotel. No matter what we wanted to do, they got it organised for us.
We had one problem, i.e. someone keyed in the wrong room rate and I didn't notice at check-out time. So I complained with one short phone call, and two days later received a letter of excuse by e-mail with a scan of the credit card refund. This is what I call perfect service in case of problems.

"Fabulous Oriental"
We have just returned from 4 nights at the Oriental Hotel Singapore. We loved staying here, the hotel was fabulous and the service outstanding. We had a standard room which was very spacious (bigger than we had expected) and ample space for 2 adults and our 2 year old (who slept in a cot provided by the hotel). The staff couldn't have been more friendly and did everything to assist us - nothing was ever too hard. They even remembered my husband's birthday and a birthday cake was even left in our room.
Breakfast was amazing with every cusine and food type covered - even little desserts/lollies etc. The pool was a typical city hotel pool (rectangle shape) but very nice and there is also a children's pool. What makes this pool area even better is the staff, the greet you as you walk out to the pool, have your towels ready on your cabana chair (with a headrest!), then they bring you a bottle of cold water and a small plate of fresh fruit. They have kids pool toys as well so our little one was entertained. Very relaxing. My husband had a massage in the day spa which was fantatsic. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants apart from breakfast but they did seem lovely. Overall we loved this hotel for the staff, the tranquil surrounds and being on the marina (with a shopping centre right next door). It was excellent (and just far away from the bustle of Orchard road but close enough to everything). It was fabulous with a toddler too who loved going up and down in their glass lifts. We would definately recommend this hotel and stay here again.
