"Impressive place"
I stayed at the Marriott Marquis Times Square during a weekend in early August.
The location was the main reason I choose this hotel. It's in a very convenient location, just steps from the Times Square subway station.
I was really impressed by the hotel. The room was very spacious for Manhattan. There were leak stains on the ceiling but they must have already patched up the leak. The bed was very comforatble, and there were no noise issues from outside or from the adjacent rooms.
The atrium lounge on the 8th floor was great for meeting up with friends in the city. It's spacious and has comfortable furniture. Plus, you can order drinks in the evening.
The famous/infamous elevators are not a problem at all if you know how to use them. I got where I needed to go relatively quickly, even during the rush times.
Overall, a great choice! I plan to stay at the Marriott Marquis again!

"Excellent stay..Staying here again!"
Booked a room at the Marquis during the third weekend of March 2006 for the first time. I found a great rate at $199 and took advantage of a great deal. First of all, this hotel is in the middle of Times Square, the middle of everything, fast paced, the typical NYC hustle and bustle. If you dont like crowds..stay somewhere else. If you are impatient..stay somehwhere else. If you dont like elevators..stay somehwere else.
Ok, the important info:
The room was clean and large compared to others I have stayed at in NYC. The bathroom including tub and toilet were clean, the bed linen was clean, the conceirge was friendly ( even though the lobby area was packed with people, they still took the time to patiently answer our questions ) check in was easy but is located on the third floor, the elevators gave us no problem, overall, this is a great place to stay. Shop around for good rates. I would recommend this hotel for all types from singles, couples, families, etc. Have fun, it's NYC!
