"Excellent in all respects"
I never thought I'd hear myself praise a chain hotel so highly, but the Marriott Aurora was absolutely superb during my stay there last week. The location is ideal for sightseeing, as it's only a minute's walk from the Bolshoi Theatre and about 5 minutes away from Red Square. Also great for shopping as it's situated on one of the main upmarket shopping streets, just across the road from the Tsum department store and Petrovka Passage which houses lots of top name shops. Nearest metro station is a couple of minutes' walk away. The room was gorgeous, with every comfort and a relaxing, luxurious atmosphere. The dedicated butler service on offer is a nice extra as well, although I didn't call upon mine. I tried one of the two restaurants and the food was very good indeed with the usual international selection and a small selection of local specialities to try. The lounge bar is a good place to relax after a day's hectic sightseeing and also serves good food and drink. All the staff I encountered spoke good English, were polite and welcoming. Very tight security, which is reassuring. Can't recommend it highly enough!

"Best in Moscow"
This hotel is eyewateringly expensive but quite honestly the best in Moscow, unless you can stump up an extra £100 for the Kempinski. I don't usually like bland chain hotels but Marriott has done well here - large, clean rooms with great facilities, an excellent concierge and a nice bar area. Moscow customer service is hilariously rude but the Marriott staff have obviously been well briefed! There is an excellent Swiss restaurant around the corner which I highly recommend.

"Outstanding"
We stayed at this hotel in the beginning of January. It's super clean, and beautiful. The rooms are large and super comfortable and cozy.
But best of all is the staff. The manager, assistant manager, and all of the hotel staff cannot do enough for you. This is a first class hotel, with luxury and style.
The breakfast buffett, which was comped to us, is fantastic, in a beautiful atrium, with live harp music playing in the background.
The baths are marble with seperate tub and shower. Red Square is a short seven to ten minutes walk down hill from the Hotel as is the Bolshoy Ballet. For a Michellin Star resturant try Le Marre. Expensive but 1st class and up the road about three blocks from the hotel. Also a must is the Gym (pronounced goom) mall.
In a nutshell readers, this hotel is beautiful, clean, luxurious, friendly, in the ideal location and you definetly will not be dissappointed. Remember to ask for a discount at check in, and book as far in advance as possible to get the best possible rates. We paid $280 plus tax, in a very off week, so its not cheap but worth every ruble.
